This. So much this. I just witnessed an in-house, BPEL-like framework in Java to process data using dozens of classes, each designed to perform one function. Something we do not need. 🙄. My response: Do not underestimate the value of a modular codebase that uses domain language.
New coding ideas need to meet developers where they are and make their job easier ~ not create more things for them to learn and do to get their job done.

This is today’s alternative version of mowing a lawn or doing another chore for a summer and get a reward. Love it!.
the kids (9 & 8) asked for a computer so I made a quest for them: build an Apple 1 from scratch and get a MacBook Air. kit just arrrived, I’ll keep you posted

This is so true. I spend most of my time repeating daily the vision that leaders said once and moved on. This is a disservice to your entire organization. Keep repeating. Keep casting the vision until it has become reality.
