I welcome Tony McArdle's appointment as the new lead commissioner for Birmingham. Hopefully, this will be the start of a new approach that is better fitted to the city's needs, more transparent, and a smaller draw on the city's resources.

SEND specialist FE colleges like Victoria College in Northfield need to fund building adaptations and equipment. But they haven't had ringfenced capital grants for more than a decade, unlike mainstream FE. I'm glad to have been able to raise this important issue yesterday.
Great to see Laurence Turner MP mention Victoria College during Education Questions yesterday, raising the crucial issue of capital funding for specialist FE colleges. We're encouraged by the Minister's agreement to meet and look forward to the next steps @larry_turner
