The right to a guaranteed hours contract will be transformative for workers, but we have to get the implementation right. Yesterday we heard from Usdaw members, TULO Chair @JoanneGSUsdaw, UNISON's @GavinEdwards77, and Unite's Hannah Reed on how we do just that.

Read @KateOsborneMP's article on defending the day one right not to be unfairly dismissed - which would provide much needed security to LGBT+, young, Black and Asian workers that are so often on the sharp end of the labour market šŸ‘‡ https://t.co/vv0tgRIpzJ

Right now, your boss is allowed to sack you for any reason they want if you’ve been in your job for less than two years.

Cost of living pressures are continuing. Raising real incomes and living standards is the priority. I asked which sectors are next for a fair pay agreement — and how the govt plans to extend them to lift wages. #FairPayAgreement

Reform say they stand up for the working class - but they never have. They’ve voted to block the Employment Rights Bill again and again. It’s Labour on the side of workers: creating jobs, ending zero-hours contracts, and protecting workers from unfair dismissal from day one.

Unions are crystal clear - the New Deal was a Manifesto commitment, and must be delivered in full. That means passing the Bill intact, and ensuring it is implemented robustly - so the rights deliver on the promise made to voters. Whether it's day one rights, the right for

The New Deal for Working People is not done yet. A single status of worker would help to end the scourge of insecure work, that's why @AndyMcDonaldMP wants to see the New Deal implemented in full.

Last night, I am proud to have voted for the biggest upgrade to rights at work in a generation. From guaranteed hours, more family friendly rights, and a ban on fire and rehire, the Employment Rights Bill is going to make work pay. So, what’s next for the Bill?šŸ“ @labourunionsuk
