Bacteria control you by releasing mimics of human signaling molecules. Using automation to discover chemicals made by gut microbes from food, we map fatty acid amides as mimics to fool the immune system. @NovartisScience @MITdeptofBE #syntheticbiology https://t.co/Edp5YfucQu

New paper on transmission of antibiotic resistance genes in clinical settings. "horizontal plasmid transfer occurs in the gut of virtually every colonized patient". Scary! @NatureMicrobiol https://t.co/wmJlVNKNZw We need phage to help to tackle this challenge @vivek_mutalik

A fascinating piece for me to read. With a young journey in science, I acho Dr.Pringle that science is more enjoyable if we are always open and willing to share ideas, materials and credit. thank my mentors Adam D and morgan Price.@DeutschbauerLab https://t.co/5rHT1fuFLI

This reminds me about one of my PhD projects, what are those pili genes do in C. perfringens. In marine Cyanobacteria, type IV pili turns out to be part of a sophisticated floatation mechanism. Microbes are so cool that they often beyond our imagination! https://t.co/VYknZGjd4O

We just reported a powerful tool for cloning large genomic DNA ( https://t.co/Jl4hGY5OOC). Here is a related news release:  https://t.co/W8FKL98ttN. I hope this CAPTURE method will not only capture novel natural products but also scientists’ imagination.
