This causes HSCs to divide & make red cells. Julia didn't discard repetitive sequences when comparing gene expression in HSCs from pregnant vs non-pregnant mice & humans: retrotransposons came on in pregnant HSCs. Nobody had noticed this because rep seqs are usually discarded 2/5
