I met Eva Schloss at my school over 20 years ago, as her daughter was a librarian at our school. She leaves behind a huge legacy.

With great sadness, we received the news of the passing of Eva Schloss (née Geiringer), an Auschwitz survivor. Eva was born on 11 May 1929 into a Jewish family in Vienna. In 1938, her family fled to Belgium and later to the Netherlands. She lived in the same apartment building

I am endlessly in awe of the sheer political and diplomatic naïveté of people who think the British Prime Minister should conduct the rhetoric of international relations as if he were some ranting bloke sitting in an attic on his Facebook account. Grow up.

Venezuela’s Maduro is a corrupt, vicious dictator repressing democratic opposition . But the US unilaterally capturing a foreign leader not at war breaches every canon of intl law. Justifies Putin in Ukraine/Xi in Taiwan. Might is right. Who next on what pretext? A dark moment.

Great news: Colindale station is the latest to have a step-free entrance, making it London’s 94th step-free Tube station. I’m determined to keep growing this number and making London as accessible as possible.

I’m really pleased to see @BarnetCouncil roll out recycling bins on the high road in East Finchley as part of @alan_s01 BarNet Zero strategy! These often have high rates of spoil, so I urge people to use these as intended and put the right rubbish in the right bins.

I hope @ChrisMasonBBC and others read this thread…the selective framing of a budget argument is common and not the same as uniquely lying to win an argument.

In light of criticism Rachel Reeves has received for not telling us all in advance of the Budget about improved tax receipts, here is a salutary reminder of how Chancellor George Osborne handled his big surprise announcement in the November 2015 Spending Review. #Budget25 1/7

Unbelievable ! Listening to Zeffman giving his "take" following the PM's speech re the Budget - it's very clear to me : If Starmer walked on water, turned water into wine, drove out disease ,did a "Lazarus" & performed miracles to order, the MSM & Zeffman would still condemn him.

The moment it became clear it would form the next Government -Labour never stood chance against an onslaught unprecedented in its magnitude. From day one the combined forces of a hostile media, a disgruntled Tory rump & a disaffected establishment became a pack of baying hounds.
