Just spent a few mins watching the new 🚶‍♀️🚴 crossing from Castle Park to Baldwin Street. This single set of lights replaces the redundant traffic light system that covered the whole junction. You used to have to wait several minutes to be able to cross here!

This is bold stuff by @sgloscouncil - I was worried they would water down this scheme but they've held firm. Several miles of fully segregated cycle track along a semi-rural A road, with priority over side roads, extensive use of dutch entrance kerbs. https://t.co/7pwPP5Vj7X

On the day where national policy is inexcusably scaled back, I'm proud that @UWEBristol is stepping forward. I'm part of our new Climate Education course - enabling students to understand the #ClimateCrisis, feel empowered and act to make a difference. https://t.co/btPlGwADHg

Ok Bristol, who’s in? Are you fed up with streets that don’t feel safe for our children - or anyone not in a car? We just need to pick a location and show up. @beardedjourno @jonusher @BristolCycling @ZoeBanksGross @EdPlowden #SafeStreetsNow

It's a failure of policing and a failure of politics to get to grips with the dominance of cars in our society.

The previous incident was on the same road and involved me, my wife and 2 kids while we were all on bikes cycling up the hill. I won't let my kids cycle on our local streets any more - it's not worth the risk while people can drive like this as they please.

Hi @ASPolice how do pedestrians report this kind of driving behaviour, in a 20mph limit at school pick up time? Someone needs to speak to him before he causes a collision or kills a vulnerable road user. I've reported the same driver for a separate incident in June @BristolDon

I hope someone @BristolCouncil @travelwestEng active travel team is on the phone to this journalist! Not a good advert @BristolDon "I did apply months ago for some of the council's free cycling schemes to encourage active travel, but haven't heard back" https://t.co/n3jrOuMkPU

Despite my initial doubts, I was shocked to end up in town in half the time it normally takes

Hem hem, residents of Richmond Upon Thames....(or every London borough...) Well said @Lorespontevedra 👏 It is *not* the local authority's job to supply you with a parking space in a city where public transport is also provided.

"It's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them." —@Lorespontevedra, Mayor of #Pontevedra🇪🇸 (re-elected SIX time)

What bad urban leadership looks like. Anyone who truly understands how cities actually work, and why they succeed or fail, knows that this isn’t “motorists vs everyone else.” Designing cities for cars fails for everyone, including drivers. This doesn’t bode well for UK cities.

@RishiSunak @Telegraph Ok Rishi, let’s talk about “freedom”. Let’s talk about how children’s freedom has been stolen from them over decades of car-centric policy-making. How they no longer walk, cycle and play outside because it’s not safe. How 80% don’t get the daily physical activity they need.

@RishiSunak @Telegraph Wow do you actually know what your talking about? This is taking 'surreal' to a whole new level! You don't think you have a few other more pressing issues to focus on- let's say the economy, struggling public services, cost of living crisis, climate emergency etc etc?

After a great campaign with 3 excellent runners it's great to now have @damienegan as our @UKLabour candidate for the new #BristolNorthEast constituency. I have known Damien all his adult life and know he will be a fantastic candidate & Member of Parliament to represent us all.

Double standards anyone? Just wait for the moment when all those commenting that the couple shouldn't have bought a bike they don't have the space to store realise that's also true of everyone who parks a car on the pavement 'to leave space for other cars'...

Really interesting quandary thrown up by this couple in Bristol. It feels like they are doing the right thing, but then again we constantly tell drivers ‘no one owns the road’, & what if everyone did this? Have a read, & discuss…

I knew I'd seen a 3D model of the city. The now defunct City Design group (cut by the Mayor) must have developed this for his State of the City address in 2020. Can this be updated and then made interactive? @BristolCouncil https://t.co/QBuRdWfSkM

Someone needs to look at the cumulative impact on these tall buildings. It's all very well showing us a render of what's proposed here, but add it to the Premier Inn site, the Castle Park sites - significant changes to our skyline aren't being assessed in the round.
