My latest essay. Please take the time to read because if you do, I think you’ll see why it matters.
JOE NUTT: 'When Oct 7th was immediately followed not by unanimous dismay but by malevolent equivocation from many, I felt horribly unmoored; as though my essential identity was suddenly being questioned' @joenutt_author #csm #Israel

If that’s ‘brilliant’ I hate to think what ‘incompetent’ looks like on the Labour Party’s performance management criteria.
"Keir Starmer is doing a brilliant job as leader at the moment," Labour MP Johanna Baxter tells #PoliticsLive "At the moment," political commentator Tim Montgomerie responds https://t.co/TgEfKUTl64

If this lie was about any other ethnic minority, UCL would be closed down tonight.
This video shows @UCL Research Associate Dr. Samar Maqusi presenting to students the medieval blood libel myth, which falsely accused Jews of using Christian blood for rituals, as fact. This dangerous conspiracy is one of the oldest forms of antisemitism and has led to violence

Extraordinarily frustrating watching so many people now realising Phillipson really is “clueless” when they said absolutely nothing as she set about decimating dozens of schools and thousands of families’ lives - for absolutely no benefit whatsoever.
Do the DfE seriously think we don’t set our own targets - clueless! Interestingly my school is 2nd out of 20 similar schools and I am advised to reach out to the following school for support: Trinity Academy St Edward’s I kid you not #laughable

Can we please stop schools and the children in them being used by politicians in this crass and inappropriate way?
Students at E-ACT Merchants Academy value being in school – from achieving in the classroom to thriving with friends. As part of our Plan for Change, we're helping every school improve attendance with new support and targets so every child can achieve and thrive, building on

Already in Wales & coming to English schools soon. We have to reduce politicians' part the education process to a minimum. The damage they wreak on other people's children, in pursuit of nothing more important than their party politics, is too high a price for any culture to pay.
Three pupils join us in S4 from schools in the north of England. I hear one say to another "how does anyone learn in this chaos?". Quite.

When Starmer goes, can someone set up one of those petitions that suggests parliament debates exiling him?

A reminder that education, when we are foolish enough to gift politicians the purse strings, will always be driven by technology businesses. Not one penny of this spend is necessary. Huge sums could easily be saved on our vast education budget, by cutting this sort of thing.
“All schools in England to be given AI-generated pupil attendance targetsm” Are we talking all about numbers here or actual kids? Schools & families need support not increased pressure!🤷♀️ @SpcialNdsJungle

Good grief, are they really this stupid?! 'Amid fears'. He's been vulnerable since 2020, he is despised, even by the new MPs, and he's as good as gone. Appearing in the tea room for 1st time in 5 years isn't going to change that now...
EXCL: Downing Street has launched an extraordinary operation to protect Keir Starmer amid fears among PM’s closest allies he is vulnerable to leadership challenge in wake of budget.

If you have the public against you, your ministers against you, and your MPs against you, what character trait is it that tells you that you must stay in post and how prevalent is this in normal society
EXC: Keir Starmer has privately vowed to face down any leadership challenge post-budget or May elections Allies warn MPs of market chaos and say he won't quit if ministers demand he goes – but dare them to find 80 MPs and trigger a contest he'd fight https://t.co/p9sPvu6BoX

The re-writing of history begins. Keep your receipts everyone. This won’t get memory holed or swept under the carpet.
Interesting exchange between @jonsopel on Stonewall and @maitlis on her experience at Newsnight when the programme was reporting on the failings of the Tavistock GIDS & how isolated the Newsnight team felt at the time: “we were terrified”

They should, as should all campaigning, activist or political material. Since when did it become acceptable to target children at school, in the way they are now routinely targeted?
This surely raises the question as to whether BBC resources should be suspended from UK schools. Newsround and BBC Bitesize are treated by our educational establishment as gospel. The BBC's under-reporting of gender critical views and its complicity in the marketing of an

This is really good. "The BBC does news in that postmodern way. Things no longer happen or do not happen in its universe. There are no events. Instead, there are narratives... When you think about the world like that,... you’ve already given up on truth anyway."
"OK we forged it. Which was a mistake. But we know from other forgeries that this forgery was essentially true" - that it? @Peter88902568 @joenutt_author The BBC licence fee is now a tax on stupidity https://t.co/GbWb8YoeS5 via @theconwom

The government wants to increase Fixed Penalty Notices for anyone breaching Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) from £100 to £500. What a racket. PSPOs can be issued by a single council official for the most anodyne activities. They then outsource enforcement to PRIVATE

Every single time I weaken, and actually watch a clip from this embarrassing charade, these people illustrate exactly why they should never, ever have been employed as professional journalists.

The use of the phrase ‘institutional bias’ is itself a deplorable failure to reflect, because it merely reproduces one of the most egregiously lazy, but toxic neologisms of recent years; the Macpherson report’s ‘institutionally racist’ - as though it somehow means something.

I am astonished at how many political journalists think it is OK to splice together different words to create a NEW MEANING. It is misleading, terrible journalism.
