My latest essay. Please take the time to read because if you do, I think you’ll see why it matters.
JOE NUTT: 'When Oct 7th was immediately followed not by unanimous dismay but by malevolent equivocation from many, I felt horribly unmoored; as though my essential identity was suddenly being questioned' @joenutt_author #csm #Israel

Reform can’t just come through Parliament, we need to fundamentally readdress the way the BBC and others treat the English language. My recent essay on the woefully degraded state of the English language.
JOE NUTT: 'Postmodernist thinking in its crudest, radical form has permeated every stage of education, from the nursery to the university' @joenutt_author #csm

The idea that you would appoint anyone to perform a professional role, for any other reason than their ability to deliver what’s needed, is absolutely and always perniciously damaging for everyone concerned. Just look at the cabinet.
This former council house corner boy calls bullshit. We want the best people to run our public services not the winners of some prolaterian bingo game designed by people bred in think tanks.

While we have politicians who often appear to be proud of how poorly read they are.
Adam Smith's favourite book was Gulliver's Travels; Horatio Nelson quoted Shakespeare; Tesla thought of the induction motor while reciting Goethe; in the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson drew on Milton; to reimagine the universe, Darwin had to read Paradise Lost obsessively.

Guessing either he doesn’t have kids, or he hasn’t the faintest idea about what life at such schools actually consists of.
The amount private schools achieve with huge advantages has always seemed completely pathetic to me. The amount of e.g. modern and ancient languages, science and maths, programming etc you could teach given very high ability intakes and multiples of state school spend per pupil.

If you think this is OK you’re either Bridget Phillipson, Rachel Reeves or some other walking human nightmare, because I’ve never worked anywhere in the world, where it would be considered OK.
Well done @RachelReevesMP @Keir_Starmer after 183 years of being a school #MountStMarys #TheMount in 6 months you have managed to shut it leaving 500 and kids and their teachers with no school to go to and parents desperately trying find places in schools in the state system

This man really needs to find a better hobby. The damage they do to real schools and children, when they con weak-minded politicians, is unforgivable.
You can’t build a successful education system around shame, embarrassment, detention & exclusion. You can’t create inclusion for all via a curriculum that only works for some. So as the saying goes “If the child doesn’t learn the way you teach, start teaching the way they learn.”.
