Direct action WINS again! After being told L&Q "couldn't give us a date" for repairs, we kept up the pressure until they agreed to send the surveying team out within DAYS to get our doors and windows repaired at Primrose E9 😎💪 The tenants united, will never be defeated! 🚩🚩

As calls for controls on rents become stronger, the attacks on the policy are intensifying. Even as rents continue to outstrip wage growth, the Institute for Economic Affairs (IEA) has put out claims to oppose the policy. They are wrong, and here's why... 🏘️🧵[1/9]

🚨RENTERS VS THE BANKS🚨 TSB are creating rental insecurity. Their Buy-to-Let mortgage terms mean that tenants cannot be offered contracts of longer than one year. Today we're taking action at TSB branches across England and Wales demanding they change this policy!

On Monday 19th February the world lost Louie Herbert - a dear friend and comrade and a founding member of ACORN - following a short illness. It’s fair to say that there wouldn’t be ACORN as we know it today without Louie. He was there from the very inception in 2013, busy

You're perhaps the most dense journo, London has over 30,000 homes empty "long-term". Billionaire investment portfolios treat our city like a playground, practically printing cash keeping homes empty as the line goes up. We should tax them out of existence.
London is perhaps the least dense major city in the world. And that makes its housing among the most expensive. The only way is up. Central London should be seven to ten storeys standard - like Paris.

Interesting - a former No. 10 adviser admits she blocked the Renters (Reform) Bill while in Downing St. This is what we housing campaigners have been up against - there are parts of the Conservative Party that just do not believe in additional protections for renters.
I blocked it for short-time I was in No.10 but alas it lives on. Landlords are leaving the market, and who can blame them.

Something special is happening in north london... We've had enough of low-quality housing, dodgy landlords running free, and evictions on the rise, so we're standing up for ourselves, getting organised, and fighting back for what's ours. And we're winning big. Find out how👇

Proof council leaders have concealed the truth about how long they've known about dangers at Barton House! After a question by ACORN member Andy Watt, they've revealed structural issues were known in August 2022. @MarvinJRees gambled with residents lives https://t.co/SGbXneR26g

The council knew about structural issues but chose not to evacuate the tower block until well over a year later

This is what politicians & journos fail to understand about ACORN. We aren't kindhearted do-gooders helping people out, we're working class people standing up for ourselves. Viv got harrassed by bailiffs, so she led & won a campaign to get rid of them. Because she's ACORN.
23,000 low income households in Manchester will no longer be chased for council tax debts by bailiffs thanks to a huge campaign by ACORN members and our friends at @debtjustice👊
