I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John Prescott - a giant of the Labour movement. I send my sincere condolences to Pauline and the family and, with enormous gratitude and fond memories, I reflect on John’s personal encouragement to me and his wise words. RIP John.

Spiralling economic inactivity is holding Britain back. Britain isn't working - but we have a bold plan. I will set out fundamental reforms in my first speech as Secretary of State in Barnsley today. https://t.co/yNfmsh5oqV

As a woman working full time it’s really hard to fit in vital appointments for screening , but if I can manage it then there are no excuses for getting your cervical screening done in Barnsley, excellent Sunday offer from our Gp federation @LowderWendy

Jo Brand has worked with the most vulnerable people in society, and I admire her greatly, plus we have the same name and are both ex M/H workers, just putting that out there!

My daughter’s school’s uniform shop – run by Tesco – charges £18.50 for a branded cardigan that costs £2.50 without branding from a Tesco store. I spoke to the headteacher + he’s allowing unbranded cardigans for the first time. I’m pleased I found the confidence to speak up.
