This is a complete inversion of reality. Two days ago it was absolutely ubiquitously uncontroversial that football hooligans should be banned, the actual hypocrisy is that a lot of people are now pretending to support hooliganism.

Strange how those applauding the banning of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending the match at Aston Villa for ‘hooliganism’ reasons, have never shown outrage over other examples of hooliganism. I wonder what is the difference here?

The disdain our political and media class has for the general public is pretty neatly encapsulated in the fact that Israeli football hooligans being denied permission to smash up Birmingham has been elevated to a national emergency.

When 1,600 English football hooligans were banned from attending the 2024 Euros, policing minister Chris Philp said, "Violence, abuse, and disorder have no place in the game we love". When it's Israeli football hooligans with a record of violence, racist abuse and disorder ...

The decision to ban Macca Tel Aviv fans is sickening and wrong Giving in to antisemitism is weak and immoral The police should make our streets safe for everyone - not capitulate to mob threats This is a day of shame for both the West Midlands and its police force

People say anti-Genocide slogans are anti-Semitic. But a crowd of football hooligans famous for marching round singing “death to Arabs”, they need protecting? It’s not enough for Zionists to lie a little bit, just enough to cover the basics. The lies must be constant and huge.

This is a shameful decision. If @WMPolice & Birmingham council can't guarantee safety for this 1 match then the city's ability to host forthcoming major international events should be reviewed. https://t.co/m0TRPF3Yyt

Aside from whatever tactical or racial superiority they think it represents, the other big reason our ruling class loves Israel as a global project is that it is a reliable, willing (enthusiastic!) participant in workshopping how to lie to your public

This is the wrong decision. We will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets. The role of the police is to ensure all football fans can enjoy the game, without fear of violence or intimidation. https://t.co/8aBeqE4qbA

If you want to know why Americans are so incurious and brain dead, this is an actual scene from of a college-level international relations class in an American University. This is what passes for education in this country. Remember that when you see the final mushroom cloud

A big hurdle for the right for 70 years has simply been how culturally ingrained it is that Nazism=bad and now they figured out that you can actually bypass the process of convincing people Nazism is *good* if you can instead convince them it's *trolling*

Unsurprising but still jarring to see people who advocate killing infinity children as an unfortunate Reality of War suddenly having to pretend all life is simply too precious to allow the longstanding historical precedent of "collaborators get shot"
