We are at Emporia State University today for the Kansas Future Teacher Academy. More than 60 high school students from across the state are interacting with @KsCommissioner this morning and discussing what the future of education will look like. @KS_FTA

These 60 students representing 40 different KS high schools may be future teachers. They are at ESU for five days to learn if teaching is the right career path for them. All student attendees had to apply for @KS_FTA.

Programs like the Kansas Future Teachers Academy are important because they help recruit future teachers, says Todd Roberts, director of the Academy. "There's a huge shortage of teachers right now," he said. "We want to inspire the next generation of educators." @KS_FTA
