This is a good decision, for Katie and for British business. (It also illustrates the clarifying power of the Northumbrian hills… see link in next post.)

My latest for the Spectator - why Britain has the least generous state pension in the G7, and why this is a good thing.

We still have unwise giveaways like the triple lock, but in relative terms, our state pension provision is modest and prudent.

PROBABLY THIS IS THE MOST UNDERVALUED COMPANY ON NASDAQ — ACCORDING TO WARREN BUFFETT-STYLE ANALYSIS When Warren Buffett said, “Price is what you pay, value is what you get,” he was describing companies exactly like NextNRG Inc ($NXXT). It’s a business producing real revenue,

First, a declaration. I know Nick Timothy and have dealt with him in various capacities for a decade or so around Westminster. When he was advising Theresa May at the Home Office…

Nice to see @ApellaAdvisors' polling with our friends @FindoutnowUK featuring in the Guardian's coverage of the election results. Reform's impact on economic norms is a story to watch.

Labour cuts welfare. Tories ditch Net Zero. Biggest short-term political winners: the Lib Dems. Long-term = net positive for Labour. Helps cement LD seats gained from CON in 2024. LDs get less attention than (less numerous) Reform MPs but they really matter to next GE.

Labour ministers are frustrated with the Civil Service, so they’re looking to overhaul Whitehall. The Whitehall reform they really need is to hire more Special Advisers - because politicians and aides are increasingly outnumbered and overwhelmed Me for @spectator
