This from @Moreincommon_ may be one of those bits of polling that causes a real stir. The whispers of *Boris 2: the Return* will now become louder.

An algorithm just dredged up my review of @NJ_Timothy 's book in 2020. I stand by my point that a post-referendum Tory govt that actually implemented Timothyism would have averted split on the Right and the rise of Reform.

Nice to see @ApellaAdvisors' polling with our friends @FindoutnowUK featuring in the Guardian's coverage of the election results. Reform's impact on economic norms is a story to watch.

Labour cuts welfare. Tories ditch Net Zero. Biggest short-term political winners: the Lib Dems. Long-term = net positive for Labour. Helps cement LD seats gained from CON in 2024. LDs get less attention than (less numerous) Reform MPs but they really matter to next GE.

Wes Streeting deserves credit for starting a debate about mental health diagnosis rates. Lots of politicians agree with him privately, but very few have been willing to say so publicly.

Labour ministers are frustrated with the Civil Service, so they’re looking to overhaul Whitehall. The Whitehall reform they really need is to hire more Special Advisers - because politicians and aides are increasingly outnumbered and overwhelmed . Me for @spectator

Can anyone help solve a mystery and identify these nice people? The pic is from a charity fundraiser in Cardiff last month. I'm keen to learn more about their contributions to that event. Journalist friends: Do they have links to any Welsh media outlets?.#wales

Our falling birth rate means we need to rethink how we educate our increasingly scarce children. Since we will rely on a smaller group of youngsters for economic output, it follows that their per-capita productivity needs to higher. My latest @thetimes column:.

Now the the BBC is doing "Rachel Reeves' LinkedIn page is the new Watergate". I understand why, but it's still trivia that doesn't deserve so much attention.

Meanwhile, there are MPs whose earlier lives contain some genuine wrongdoing. Where's the scrutiny on them?
