The thread generally is solid, but I love this graphic. I sincerely believe that most Americans don't realize how small our country is when put in a global context, and it's a pity. We'd be a better society if we didn't believe we were the only ones that mattered.
This is a nation of 90M+ people, across a large swath of territory. The U.S. strategy cannot possibly be dropping missiles on military and industrial sites, taking out a few government officials, and declaring victory. The Islamic regime's bullpen is deep, on all fronts.

I am begging Janet Mills to make a positive case for herself. If she wins the nomination and is just “vote for me, I’m not Susan Collins” she’s playing with fire.
Listen I think Platner’s past comments are all absolutely fair game, but I do think it’s telling about where the race is at that Mills is focusing solely on them and not on differences on the issues. When you’re down and have universal name ID, your only option left is to attack

I disagree with this. Platner attacking an older woman is precisely what the Mills campaign wants right now. He should remain message-focused, while acknowledging his past wrongdoing.
going positive is interesting, but doesn’t mitigate the core risk, which is that pundit-brain prone Dems will accept the apology but think he presents the riskier option — that’s why he should go negative to make it clear she’s out of touch with the moment, and unelectable
