Things aren’t as bad in the UK. But… While I will fight to the death to improve schools, the fact is that PARENTS must not source their child’s development out to the state. If your child isn’t reading at chronological level, that’s on YOU. No phones. Read to your kids.

Found these two stats absolutely stunning
The number of children in class sizes over 30 is the biggest ever. The pupil-to-teacher ratio in both secondary and primary schools is the worst in the OECD. #SaveOurSchools

Some ppl on this social network have absolutely no concept of what it’s like to be a teacher in a mainstream classroom of 30+ students where a significant proportion have no interest in behaving well.

Teacher working conditions need to improve. Workload needs to be more realistic. Student behaviour must become better. Parental engagement needs to develop. All of the above otherwise teacher job retention will continue to fall and with it the quality of education.

Warning 1 Warning 2 Warning 3 Next lesson: Warning 1 Warning 2 Warning 3 Next Lesson: Warning 1 Warning 2 Warning 3 ♻️ ♻️ ♻️ x50 ♻️ again. A great teacher can be broken by this A great group of kids can be left behind This isn’t inclusion, this ignores the 99%.

Watching #BBCPoliticsNorth and there is no mention that the pay rise is unfunded so needs to come out of existing school budgets.

Poor behaviour is a huge problem. Yet the unions and many people deny this. Pay is one reason teachers will strike but if behaviour were good in their classrooms, they would not strike. Sort behaviour and you are half way there. 👍🏽
