The ophthalmology team have been updating our stop points for safety for use in theatres to make sure they are aligned across all our theatres and with NatSSIPs8. The best way to test this is to role play how they work in practice-well done team!

Despite all the things going on in the world there are still lots of things to be grateful for. Fabulous performance of Verdi’s Requiem at Winchester cathedral last night and quiet day enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

He did it! 🙌 After 3 months alone at sea, rowing thousands of miles, UHS consultant anaesthetist, Leo Krivskiy, arrived in Barbados yesterday! 🚣♂️ We couldn't be prouder to have him as part of the UHS family. He's nothing short of inspirational. ✨ #LeoTheLegend #LeosRow (1/2)

The one thing I really miss about not running at the moment is watching the changing seasons in the countryside. Making progress though- back in the gym this morning and enjoying spring flowers in the garden.

The knee still has some recovering to do but it feels a real milestone to be back in the garden for Pilates with my girlfriends. We don’t let the cold stop us!

The reshaping of NHS national bodies has only just started. How will it finish? Following the announcement that NHS England is to be abolished, Siva Anandaciva considers the implications and why at the moment there are more questions than answers.

Good to see some recognition that paying consultants more @UHSussex 'helped trust cut waiting lists by nearly 20%’. Hopefully other Trusts will start to understand that too! https://t.co/DDFRlKZ8Hs

A single trust accounted for nearly a fifth of the reduction in the national waiting list last year - and a director says the improvement was in part driven by paying staff higher overtime rates.

Great meeting with our Quality and patient safety partners. Hearing how successful work streams really took the time to engage and integrate them into the project. They have also completed the vision for their work & how they can bring the patient voice. @katepryde @vickiepurdie
