Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is responsible for 25% of UK premature deaths. Up to 80% of these deaths are preventable. It’s estimated that the burden of CVD costs £29 billion each year. But CVD prevention is not currently being prioritised by government at the scale needed.

Our long read looks at the ways integrated care systems can provide a whole-system approach to CVD prevention. We suggest what’s needed at a primary care and national level to prioritise the shift from treating CVD illness to preventing it. Read it here:
