Myth: Only people with dementia get delirium. Fact: While dementia increases risk, anyone can develop delirium. In hospitals, about 60% of people with delirium also have dementia.

Human kindness can significantly reduce the distress associated with #delirium. Eye contact, gentle words, reassurance, explanation of context - simple and quick to do, and very effective in improving the experience of the delirious patient. Build this into every interaction.
