Good Evening all, we are Code Scty. We use fresh and imaginative creative content, such as original music, videos and curriculums to teach CS and CT to under represented groups, and in general use art as a more accessible entry point for all learners, young and old. #ethicalCS

I really wanted to share @mmitchell_aiโs #coling2020 keynote with others, but itโs not publicly available (yet?) Luckily she gave a similar keynote at the @odsc conference, that was posted on YouTube: https://t.co/uR8dU1RQKI Recommended! #NLProc #EthNLP #EthicalCS

Re-upping this one for the start of the new year, because I think this is an important discussion to be had. See especially the questions at the end of the thread. #ethNLP #ethicalCS #AIethics #NLProc
New thread for ideas on guidelines for evaluating work, especially work like proposed shared tasks, which attempt to direct the research effort of larger groups of people & thus are especially important. /1 #ethNLP #AIethics #ethicalCS

๐ Young students are often forced to identify themselves as a "STEM person" or a "humanities person", when there's not one "correct" path to enter into CS. My passion for AI ethics lies at the intersection of both, and I'm extremely proud of it ๐ #ethicalCS

Signed up to run optional recess this week for middle school kids to process current events by looking at how tech perpetuates systems of oppression eg racism. Very much still a learner. Would love tips/advice/age-appropriate resources if anyone have any to share. #ethicalCS

A5: This is a key insight: Most of what we might call #ethicalcs issues are also just ethics issues, period. The police use big data, it's a policing issue. Hospitals use it? A healthcare issue? None of life's big questions is really brand new. It's a matter of connecting folks.
