A2: AI is a branch of computer science. Definition of AI is open to debate, but it includes tech that tries to predict what people will do. AI isn't an "artificial brain" but rather a set of specific solutions to difficult problems in prediction or explaining data. #ethicalCS

Good Evening all, we are Code Scty. We use fresh and imaginative creative content, such as original music, videos and curriculums to teach CS and CT to under represented groups, and in general use art as a more accessible entry point for all learners, young and old. #ethicalCS

I really wanted to share @mmitchell_aiโ€™s #coling2020 keynote with others, but itโ€™s not publicly available (yet?) Luckily she gave a similar keynote at the @odsc conference, that was posted on YouTube: https://t.co/uR8dU1RQKI Recommended! #NLProc #EthNLP #EthicalCS

A3: The biggest thing that I've learned is how important it is to have every group that might encounter a system involved in that system's development. It's hard to predict the future, and it's very likely that your own experiences will inform your predictions. #ethicalCS.

Engineering is already difficult--hard to get things right even when ethics aren't an issue. The starting point for ethical practice is to think hard about what you should be trying to make your system do. Then making it do that is "just engineering". #ethicalCS

Side question Q4.1: How can you help a thoughtful student who feels overwhelmed by #ethicalCS concerns? Overheard from a HS student (permission given to share): "there's so much that could go wrong... how can you ever get anything done with all this hanging around"
