@ItzAngel_079 @SmokeyStack_ @gaspoweredpick ... So every worldgen value for a given world pos should be directly computable from the driving noises. The challenge then becomes to design the driving noises in such a way that these cases don't occur. Or you add on something like what you suggest as a post-processing step.

@SmokeyStack_ @gaspoweredpick To get all this as a creator though, you need to use the Java worldgen data driving. The Bedrock partial biome replacement one uses a separate replacement noise, which is easier to reason about and use, but not as flexible in terms of advanced placement.

@_Hawkon this isn't even a MC problem, this is a loader problem. the loader absolutely warns about this in logs, but annoyingly doesn't do anything to prevent it whatsoever, Vanilla MC with its datapack system at least tries to whenever worldgen is modified in any way

@gaspoweredpick old minecraft did have some cool worldgen but usually it felt way more dictated by biomes; whilst modern minecraft you can find so many different biomes as giant sprawling mountains or big flat patches or even sometimes shattered terrain which adds so much variety

This is a desirable property since you otherwise end up with cross-chunk dependencies, which prevents direct computation...

One thing I'm hoping we get that would be related to Worldgen, but not a direct part of it, is the ability to delete/reset chunks via an in-game tool, and a good/easy way to choose which chunks to keep/delete... I had some idea's on a really smart color coded system for Mojang a
