Anyone who thinks Trump’s Venezuelan coup is about narco terrorism is an idiot. It’s about him controlling the largest oil reserves in the world. Everyone knows he’s lying. He knows everyone knows. He doesn’t care. That’s the world we live in now.

It’s quite surreal to note the last appearance of Prof Lord Robert Winston on the BBC was on the 14 Oct 2021. A long-running BBC presenter of science programmes and regular contributor to several shows, yet no where to be seen on the state broadcaster after stating this fact:

Litter louts are scum. There’s no excuse for it.
Well done @BucksCouncil for having the common sense and guts to charge the maximum fine. 98% of other Councils don’t understand that serious punishment - and proper enforcement - for litterers is the way to change behaviour. @davidrounding

Clarks have discarded their heritage for this. It’s one of the most ill-conceived terrible unbalanced gimmicky pieces of type I have seen in a long time. It reeks of amateurism. I hate everything about it. Just saying.

Our useless government is doing everything they possibly can to make once thriving businesses bankrupt. Reeves doesn’t understand commerce.
In my spare time I run a village pub. It’s the centre of a small Berkshire village, and has been in use as a pub since 1723 (we’ve owned the building - built c. 1400 - since 1608). We’ve just run the numbers. It’s not looking good. Net profit is down a third of pre-covid

Hannah obviously wasn’t alive in the 1970s; omnipresence and constant involvement of parents was never a thing. I can’t remember any parents either in school or dropping their kids off ever. Any nativity or play was after school. There were no parents at sports days either.

No offense but I think we underestimate how many of our current problems, both cultural and political, are downstream of the decline in reading, the decline in learning and the loss of interest in the humanities.

A senior Oxford historian @RobertGildea has now said it plainly: Britain 🇬🇧 needs a public inquiry into Brexit and it could be the pathway to rejoining the EU. His core points are devastating: 🔹 Brexit failed to control immigration – replacing EU workers with asylum hotels

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture. They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

https://t.co/MaJhytyDze That’s a hell of a lot of GDP to lose, and now the UK’s downward spiral is unstoppable, especially as today our useless Chancellor is about to make everyone even poorer, and many businesses bankrupt.
