Astonishing and horrific. This is not a fly-tip, it should be declared an environmental disaster. These criminals must be sent to jail for 10 years, fined £50,000 each, banned from driving for life… and made to clear this disaster zone up.

The enormous pile of rubbish is called an "environmental catastrophe unfolding in plain sight".

This is Aurelian Stoev, 32, from West Drayton, driving to fly-tip, and the result of his criminality. He actually fly-tipped twice, and was given a combined fine of £2,076 - for TWO fly-tips! That's NO deterrent. Should have got £20,000 fine (min) and a 12 month driving ban.

Enforcement is critical to building uncertainty in people's minds. We've installed 50 rotatable motion-activated cameras to catch litterers and fly-tippers. So far, we've caught 24 people and are pressurising Councils to prosecute. @richardgaisford

Truly astonishing... there are 29 fly-tips EACH DAY in Peterborough. Here's one of them. Look how vile it is. Clean Up Britain will soon be launching our ambitious plan to combat fly-tipping. The current legal framework needs radical overhaul. https://t.co/vGNeE4owMH

This is true. There must be a zero tolerance policy to any fly-tipping, regardless of the size. Well done to @mike56200
Pulled all this flytipping out of hedges on a lane here today. Wood, rubble, piping, metal, car wreckage, even a foot spa! Now folk are rightly annoyed at giant flytips seen on the news but they barely notice the bits and pieces dumped all over the countryside. All been reported

Another huge fly-tip. Media inevitably focuses on large ones, but there were over 1.1 million fly-tips in England last year. Most of them small in comparison - however, still hugely polluting Britain and costing millions of public money to clean up. https://t.co/PWav2WJV9r

Dashcam video is an essential tool in the war on litter. If you have one in your car, please use it! Send any evidence to us and we’ll hassle Councils to prosecute offenders. Not that @BucksFlyTipping need it - they are exemplary! 👏
Great @itvmeridian interview with @CllrCarlJackson explaining actions being taken in Bucks by @BucksCouncil against littering from vehicles 🚯🤷♂️ #ForBucksSake find a bin you can use, or take it home @cleanupbritain

A simple thing to do, but it makes the environment look so much better. And gives the impression people care. However, yet again, this sign was cleaned by a volunteer, not the Council. Let’s stop making excuses for their neglect. @lgcplus

This gives you a tiny insight into just how badly littered Britain really is... @KirstieMAllsopp
11 superheroes, 22 lay-bys, & over 10,000 items of #litter from the A38 & A419 #Gloucestershire & @CllrGillThomas is still counting. "The findings are both shocking and deeply concerning". Yet the Government shows no sign of tightening national legislation @BBCBreaking

Fly-tippers caught red handed. They should be punished with a £20,000 fine. Might focus their minds in future.

Do you think this poster would be effective, given that it's aimed at Red Bull's customers (mainly 'youngsters')?

That looks great - well done and hats off! 👍💥 But yet again exposes our lazy and ineffectual Councils. Full of excuses for not doing what they should be doing.😡@localgoveditors

Some village has lost its brain-dead idiot. 😡
11.30 today, Female caught fly-tipping on the estate. " it's ok, my friends do it" was her response when challenged. All reported to the council, let's see what is done, even with two witnesses and photographic evidence! Worth watching this one. Conservation@althorp.com #crime
