When I first made vx-underground my dog was right beside me. Every single day; morning, afternoon, or night, he would be in my office while I worked. He was there right beside me when I was working on some research projects, working on Black Mass, restructuring or reorganizing

A team of journalists in Norway spent a year secretly monitoring a credit card fraud gang to uncover who's behind it and how they operate. Here's the story -- in English -- of how they unmasked Darcula and the crime-as-a-service software Magic Cat.

The LastPass incident really demonstrates the value in 1Password's architecture where "all the data held by AgileBits is insufficient to verify a correct guess at someone’s account password." Don't be or use centralized single points of security failure. https://t.co/0MfryXaGrE

NEW: Another stalkerware app, called Spyzie, exposed the data of more than 500,000 victims. Spyzie had a bug, the same one that affected stalkerware apps Cocospy and Spyic, that allowed anyone to access messages, photos, and location data, exfiltrated from any infected device.

NEW: Apple has turned off end-to-end encrypted iCloud in the UK. The unprecedented move comes after the British government demanded a backdoor into the cloud service. New users can't opt-in, users who already have it will have to disable it sometime soon, the company said.

Ah, yes, encryption--the math that enables authentication, commerce, cybersecurity, the human right to privacy on which our networked world depends--is bad bc <spins wheel of bad guys> "pedophiles" <spins wheel of verbs> "love it most" Just profoundly unserious!

@LukeGaughan @tomhfh well for one the people who love encryption most are pedophiles. Even the US has a law ( dating way back) that forces platforms to proactively hand over some data.
