The negative backlash to this comment from anonymous ‘I’m an expert’ accounts is astonishing 😒.Yes, we all acknowledge it’s a difficult problem with complex solutions, but….I’ve been a wildfire scientist for 25 years, that’s my real name, and I completely agree with Gabriel.
If getting rid of overgrown brush is how elite firefighters *stop* massive wildfires. Why don't we just. do it before the fires ever hit?.

Always love watching @nplareau’s radar summaries!.
Here is a longer radar summary of the #DragonBravoFire's pyroconvective (#pyroCb) activity yesterday (7/28). The top shows the radar reflectivity isosurfaces in 3D, the bottom is a time-height diagram of the reflectivity, showing the multiple pulses of deep plume development,

IMETs are the greatest!!.
We’ve been at it (one way or another) for a very long time in the @NWS_IMET_OPS IMET program.

It’s not complicated, folks. Do you want:.a) occasional smoke from low intensity fire in wildland areas;.or.b) your entire house to burn *plus* thick toxic smoke from all the furniture, electronics, etc.
@Hotshot_Movie It should be so simple and sensible…do Rx burns as much as you can. A little nuisance smoke now is MUCH BETTER than the alternative later.

I can post warnings, and repost @Hotshot_Movie’s warnings, and you can ignore them all if you want. But when @RichIMET gets involved, you should pay attention!.
@Hotshot_Movie Oh yes…soon enough…there will be smoke in the air not controlled by us. You cannot ask for better Rx conditions than the last few weeks. I’m thinking the state will be regretting this.

California has a rare opportunity to be engaging in extensive (and much needed) prescribed fire operations right now.
Slow CA fire season. There are SO many fire resources sitting idle, with nothing to do. Why are they not being deployed to do the *much* needed RX fire work in the West? It's July. There's supposed to be smoke in the sky. One way or another. I prefer when *we* do it our way.

Excellent commentary on financial modeling….
I have a love/hate relationship with financial modeling. LOVE - such a powerful tool to see how different scenarios affect other elements of a business. HATE - there are so many unknowns that the exercise centers around assumptions. I find it amusing when I see financial.
