For those wondering about the status of Marina Stakusic, who'd you'd expect in Montreal but who hasn't played since losing in the RG qualifying, she pulled out (today) of the ITF in Evansville next week. Don't know what that means, if anything.

Good news for Rebecca Marino, who had been entered in a high-level (but ITF) event in Evansville, Ind next week. She squeezed into the Citi Open qualies - which is a 500 - today. So more opportunity there to make a move.

@geniebouchard Here are a couple of the oldest pics I have of her. The solo one is in 2009 - the men were in Montreal, but 15-year-old Bouchard is on a back practice court going at it. She had gotten a WC into the qualies in Toronto, lost 1R to Bondarenko, and come back home to train.

If you follow Open Court, you already knew this was likely the plan. But Tennis Canada confirmed Wednesday that @geniebouchard will call it a career in Montreal in two weeks. She deserves a proper sendoff, frankly.
