🚀Super happy that our latest research has finally been published in @NatureNeuro! We delve into the world of human neural development. Our findings shed light on the dynamic epigenetic changes that guide cell fate from pluripotency to fully differentiated neural cells.🧠🔬🧵

(6/6) We also compared dorso-ventral forebrain patterning using microfluidic gradients 🌈 (the amazing “MiSTR” from the @Kirkeby_Lab) with step-wise changes in morphogen concentrations🪜 The same regional cell types emerged... but in different proportions 📊

(5/6) We found that the choice of neural induction media 🧫🧠 can lead to different patterning outcomes 🐪🐫 in response to the same morphogen treatments.

(4/6) Our screen included different cell lines, which produced similar cell types with varying efficiency 🥇🥈🥉in response to the same morphogen treatment.

(3/6) We could also delimit patterning windows 🪟 for each morphogen and detect powerful interactions 💬between different morphogen pathways.

(2/6) We examined the induced cell types and regulons, noting that the effects of some morphogens are highly time-dependent 🕙, while others are more concentration-dependent 📶

Happy to see JiSoo Park’s work on mouse neural tube organoids published https://t.co/rZyDHby1fk 👏🎉!! Not quite a #SyntheticEmbryo… but still impressive display of the self-organization capacity of stem cells. Check out the neural crest cells that emerge from these organoids!
