The families of the fishermen who dock their boats here say there were dozens of people here when the storm hit. The first picture shows the search teams trying find bodies. When they bring them onshore, the families huddle around to see if it’s their loved one.

To me, this is the enduring image of these Ugandan elections. The govt promised peaceful elections but they accomplished that with a massive show of force. Uganda was militarized in the lead up to the elections. There were troops in every corner of Kampala. #UgandaDecides2021
