Dra. Vanessa Mora 🇲🇽
None of this would be possible without my parents’ sacrifices. I am privileged to pursue higher education and become a physician. I pray that God continues to give me the strength to make them proud and to serve my patients to the best of my ability ♥️

More than 50% of medical school students are women, but there’s still a gender gap in some of the top specialties. Only 8% of thoracic surgeons are women and even fewer are women of color. But these female physicians at a California hospital are changing the future of medicine.
On days like today, I remember why I’m going into medicine. I met a newly immigrated mother of 2 who has been homeless until recently. I asked her if she was receiving food stamps. Her response? “No, Tengo dos manos y puedo trabajar. Ay otras personas que lo necesitan mas”
In 2020, one of my greatest accomplishments was starting medical school. Apart from starting this important chapter in my life, this pandemic has taught me to appreciate the smaller things in life: beautiful Cali sunsets, quality time with loved ones. I feel so grateful. 🤍
🥳🥳 Drumroll, please‼️With overflowing excitement, we are proud to match Dr. Ricky Gutierrez
@rgutz_25

Only 6% of doctors in the U.S. are Latino. Representation improves health outcomes. Vanessa Mora, 4th year SJV PRIME med student at

As a native Spanish speaker, medical Spanish is difficult for me and I find myself stumbling constantly. I feel embarrassed until a patient smiles and says “I appreciate having a doctor that speaks Spanish” 🥹♥️
Congratulations, Eli, for being elected as our 2024-25 National President! Elizabeth Picazo (she/her/ella) is a rising MS4 at UCSF and finishing her MPH at Harvard. She served as
@lmsa_west
VP of Policy and Director Elect. She most recently served as Co-Director for

.
Congratulations Dr. Leigh Ann O'Banion (

@UCSFFresno
for a hosting another great screening event at the Binational of Central California in Fresno. Proud to be partnering with you!
America should be listening to the CDC and WHO when they say Coronavirus will be in the U.S. instead of listening to a nutball president that doesn’t even know how to spell “Coronavirus”
Was awesome to represent my team and
@UCSFMedicine
at
#ATS2023
and present our work on the creation and implementation of a 3D-printed tracheobronchial model for bronchoscopy simulation. A massive thank you to everyone that helped on the project!

Also a fan of 🌊🗻🌼.
Nice to meet you! 🤝🏽
Wake up, drink coffee, pretend to read a book, drink a bottled of wine, watch a movie, change into a fresh set of pajamas, sleep, repeat...
Really mastering this quarantine routine.
Today, I felt the highs and lows of being a first gen med student. I helped comfort a Spanish-speaking surgical patient and later learned my mom went to the ED and didn’t tell me bc she didn’t want me to “worry”. Of all the sacrifices, caring for my family can’t be one of them.
