דווקא בגלל זה, הייתי שמח שיותר אנשים יאזינו לפרק החדש בפודקאסט המעולה של נדב פרי בו הוא מארח נציגים מובילים גם מהרבעון הרביעי וגם מתיקון 2024. כמעט כל אמירה בפודקאסט מקבלת התייחסות מעמיקה בספר, אז מציע למי שזה מעניין אותה או אותו להאזין ואז לקרוא (או בסדר הפוך).

This paper criticizes the work we

and others have done in the last two decades. It wasn’t easy to read. I agree with some points and disagree with others, but would love to find ways to continue the discussion. I’ll take some time to think and will then provide my take
Academics typically claim a commitment to ending the violence they write on. We reviewed experimental Social Psychology publications on Palestine and found an emerging tradition that distorts, obscures, and reproduces violence against Palestinians.

Interesting new paper on hate and morality. Unfortunately the study of hate is becoming more and more relevant with recent political developments. I should go back to read my 2008 PhD dissertation on the nature of hate and it’s role in the political sphere…
Our new paper finds that the psychology of
#Hate
is closely tied to feelings of morality & moral emotions.
Hated objects were rated as significantly more tied to core moral beliefs and moral emotions than disliked (& extremely disliked) attitude objects.

I spent almost a decade (!) thinking about how emotions spread and amplify between people and groups. My lab and I recently started to work on a few complimentary projects: how collective emotions can be regulated. Here is a first chapter in this domain.

Its obvious but important to note that sometimes what feels good doesn't do good (both short and long term). This is especially interesting in intergroup conflicts, when expressing very negative emotions can be pleasant and destructive at the same time.
