In 2000, during the 2nd Intifada, my brother Asel was shot dead by the Israeli police in an olive grove. Today, my beloved father passed away while harvesting olives. Yaba, I feel some comfort in knowing that you died where you belong, doing what you love. Salam Ya Yaba

24 y ago, Israel murdered my brother, Asel, and I feel I never truly had the chance to grieve, as we, Palestinians, live in a constant state of loss. Amid the horrors of genocide, there are times I forget that I had a brother at all, as my mind is crowded with images of victims.
