The scariest thing about that Shamima Begum case is both her parents are British and she’s never stepped foot in Bangladesh so she’s stateless by default?
I was bored today so I went to the ftse 100, looked up every company to check who was building interesting product & the answer is not a single one, just a bunch of banks, insurance groups, supermarkets, retail & a dash of private equity
every conversation I have with someone between the ages of 21-35 & high intelligence has a long term exit plan within the next 5 years, so just the beginning of the brain drain I fear
now what product manager @ trainline came up with this… firstly nice try, secondly give us the breakdown of the cost, the delays, the cancellations, the companies, don’t be shy now…
The Chinese version “Douyin” content is literally the most academic/educational content I’ve ever seen in short form video, meanwhile tiktok is literally brain mushing the rest of the world
Making serious money in your 20s can be great!
Serious money = £15k+ a month (IMO)
If you’re earning this through a business you run or as an influencer and you have no idea what you should be doing with the money, I have some suggestions….
The UK’s Conservative party is on the brink of a generational wipeout. The single most important factor driving this is the dramatic breakdown of upward social mobility
Developers are the builders, product managers are the gaffa, BA’s are the translators, Technical consultants are the architects, dev ops are planning guys at the council making up rules, hope that helps x
I think lab grown diamonds make sense, you can wear them safely without worrying about lost/theft, you can also sleep at night knowing it was sustainable and not a blood diamond, win win
The way I describe project management to people is, imagine flying a plane but you’re not on the plane, you’re in the air traffic controller tower watching the plane coming crashing down :)
there is something to be said about how people from underprivileged backgrounds will try to choose degrees with clear paths to jobs so medicine, economics, accounting etc (not bad) but I think we lose the potential to be great at something because these people are clearly capable
BREAKING: Employees who cannot take all their annual leave due to the coronavirus pandemic will be able to carry it over for two years, the business secretary has said
I think we unintentionally are throughout our academic lives, planning for assignments and exams properly is project management, if you created a exam timetable and revision plan you’ve already grasped most of the concepts
I went to a sixth form where 90% of the students could have applied for oxbridge but only 20 did and 19 got rejected, the issue is not and will never be grades, it is the structural barriers in their application and selection process
I don’t really understand the anti 9-5 agenda at all because some of the best entrepreneurs I know picked up their skills from years of 9-5, it’s not an either or, they’re both hard lol
Phil Knight wrote a whole book on how he spent 10 years as an accountant to get Nike off the ground and a man said don’t let people on 30k talk to you about business lol
I love travel but people use travel as a status indicator which I find super weird, travel is meant to humble or relax you, ideally both, there’s no point changing destinations if the problem is you
I have worked with Brits in the past. They are by far the laziest bunch (and I have worked with Greeks too). You cannot catch them after lunch on Friday. Forget getting hold of anyone after the 21st of December. They are a fairly miserable purposeless bunch just getting through
The financial stress of London contributes to this I think. Lots of high skilled people who’d potentially try and start their own companies are instead paralysed by the responsibility of a mega mortgage and thus stay in well paid corporate roles as the risk/reward is too great.

private browser, clear cookies, google alert on the flight you’re watching, shopping around, sometimes cheaper to book directly with the airline/app, jacks flight club
How do women manage to find such cheap holiday deals?
if you want to save money you got to let women plan holidays boy. Men will have you paying 1.3k for 3 nights in Spain.
I obviously do not condone Shamima Begum’s actions, she could be trialled for her crimes but we can not go around making people stateless, that is a very dangerous precedent for everyone going forward, making an example of her doesn’t separate her from the wider issue
It really depends how you utilise it, if you only ever contribute to social commentary you’ll find battles you can never win, if you’re here for news/your interests, you can find interesting people and thoughts
When you have to return items after you used Apple Pay to pay for them explaining to SA/cashier that the number on the receipt is the device account number and you do not and will not have a card that ends in that number is SUCH a challenge omg
ultimately there is very little we can do if housing in this country is too expensive & salaries are too low, all you can do is reduce your burn rate & earn more

I've spent much of the last year covering the Lucy Letby case. My place in the courtroom was yards from the nurse's seat in the dock. Here are my impressions:
I went to grab coffee with my manager and ended up being introduced to a director of a business area I’m interested in who happened to be passing by... so that’s what people mean by networking

Alan Turing is the father of AI, I consider it a failure that it wasn’t the UK that developed the tech, we are playing catch-up when we should have been leading
The FCA need to give more than just fines to those FX scammers, the unregulated nonsense that has been happening for years, sadly fines don’t even deter them
genuinely thought I was borderlining depression, woke up today, saw the sun and went on a run
not only am I fine… life is great
it’s was literally just English weather psyop’ing me into depression
Anyway the International women’s day event I organised went well, over 700 people came, it’s cool to hear that women I look up to faced the same challenges and overcame them both personal and professional, I choose women always, they do everything and then some
I think the realisation of 2 things really helped relieve my anxiety:
1.) I am in control of my own destiny & can change it at any time
2.) Nothing really matters in the grand scheme of things, we are all truly just people floating on a rock doing our best
I kinda understand why the most intelligent/competitive/successful corporate people decide to quit & open up a local coffee shop with sweet treats, this is what life is all about
my enemy at parkrun is a 80 year old man, he’s telling me he runs almost 100k weekly, how am I meant to compete with a triple lock pensioner that runs day and night! Good 4 Ron but he’s ruining my life
fun fact, lots of citizens of other countries use and nhs digital because their own countries do not provide any information or services online
gov digital/ nhs digital deserves more funding as one of our best outputs
A lot of the services in the U.K. might be absolutely horrendous, but I will say a lot of the online service on the website are actually really efficient and clear.
The older Asians need to understand you can’t just find a person on the street and marry them like the good old days and it will result in a lifelong marriage, times and people have truly changed
