This budget from @MayorBowser is the MOST anti-worker, anti-renter, anti-family, anti- poor families, & the MOST pro-billionaire I've seen in 25 years of DC budgets.

We would, in fact, put it that way. Read our initial analysis of what’s in the mayor’s proposal and how it relies on disproven “trickle-down” tactics at the expense of residents most sidelined in our economy:.

Evictions in DC are close to a 10-yr high, yet @councilofdc votes today on a bill to restrict access to emergency rental assistance, saying too many people are avoiding eviction. Any reforms should protect people with legit claims for help.

FY 2025 DC budget cuts will compound the loss of federal pandemic aid: 60% cut in emergency rental aid, elimination of an $80 monthly supplement to SNAP food benefits, & thousands of families losing rental aid from Rapid Rehousing. Evictions may reach a 10-year high.

Federal pandemic aid created unprecedented economic security for low-income DC families, but now it’s all gone. My new report finds a typical DC family got $30,000 in pandemic aid from 2020 thru 2022. That dwindled to $400 in 2023 & nothing in 2024.
