US House Republicans are trying to force a $1 billion spending cut on DC--for no other reason other than b/c they can under Home Rule. This reckless policy choice will cause more homelessness & poverty, harm public safety goals, & throw the FY 2025 budget severely out of balance.

Thread on another outstanding budget ask that, if left unfunded, will rip away affordable health care from 28k low-income residents ⬇️⬇️⬇️.
For the record: Since day 1 of this budget cycle, we’ve been asking for *less than $50M* to save Alliance healthcare coverage for 28,000 members of DC’s immigrant community. That’s not even 0.3% of the total #DCbudget.
