Around 2004-2005,
#SpongeBob
merchandise (along with many other nick shows) had branding using a splat background and a circular logo. Many of them are based on iconic episodes of the show, and is probably the hardest to find SB merch era outside of a few select products!
@ArtofSpongebob
Anytime a date is present on a license I assume it was added without a second thought because they didn't think there'd be endless debate about it for the next 20 years
lowkey so funny whenever someone reposts that one pic accusing velma and that that one starfire comic girl of being self inserts cuz i have NEVER heard anyone complain about these guys and theyre the most blatant of all
When you realize that the director and half the writing team for The Sandy Cheeks Movie are people with no animation or SpongeBob experience everything wrong with it suddenly makes sense
It was one insecure guy. Most actual indians didn't care. Even his parents who were actual immigrants didn't care & told him he had Apu hair. One whining idiot has ruined the voice acting industry. The only good thing that could come from it is if english dub actors were fired.
lost media community when there’s a pilot out there of an animated series based on a popular movie trilogy that hasn’t been found yet vs. the lost media community when there might have been a foghorn sound at the end of the spongebob episode credits roll
Convinced that a lot of lost media hunting is just people trying to relive their childhoods which is why a lot of it is focused on children's programming
FOUND MEDIA! the spongebob psp commercial resurfaced!
a 1 second clip was first seen on youtube in 2009, but the original upload cut off the rest
now we can see the full version is only about 5 seconds but it's nice to have!
Hate this type of zoomer who thinks cartoonists making jokes among themselves is even remotely comparable to the child exploitation and abusive bosses in the industry.
it's kinda cool to see how cartoons evolved over time. It used to be that one studio was making one style over and over, now you have multiple studios making one style over and over.

The Simpsons in 1990:
- strangling children is FUNNY
- "underachiever and proud of it"
- Indian accents are HILARIOUS
The Simpsons in 2023
- we don't condone child abuse
- *pulls the Michael Jackson episode out of circulation because of a Netflix documentary*
- no Apu
I don't hate Chris Pratt, I hate that animation is so disposable to executives that they'd rather spend money on big name celebs than invest in the animation itself.

- My Adventures with Superman
Which show do you like the most?
NEW: Justin Roiland, the star and co-creator of “Rick and Morty,” has been charged with felony domestic violence in connection with a 2020 incident, according to a criminal complaint.
"the best part is, because of the limited animation, we can make the drawings even better!"
Too bad this isn't true for 99% of American cartoons, including Invincible.
This information comes from a board artist and there's no actual information in the movie or show to support what her age is. I hate that the fandom wiki treats every little thing said offhand as fact.
"I Am Clichéd" (1998)
A perfect cartoon for the '90s, satirizing the growing trend of attempting to replicate what worked with Looney Tunes by finding the most superficial elements and just copying them. Tiny Toons is the main target of mockery here, and the shots taken all land.
I think a large part of why Family Guy/Simpsons is still on the air is because they're filler content your brain doesn't have to think too hard about. It doesn't challenge you with its stories nor scare you with drawings that are TOO wacky.
Is it illegal for streaming services to prevent a person from cancelling their subscription when they want? Cause the site where I watched Chip Chilla won't allow me to cancel and says I have to submit a form via email to do so? That seems scummy to me and potentially illegal
Dear all the crazy Viv fans who think this is a good wage. I animated this last year when I still liked the show. Its a second long. It took me over 8 hours to clean up and draw each frame accurately. If I was paid $1.50 per frame I would actually take legal action.
The opening scene for ‘FINDING NEMO’ was added last minute after Pixar got worried they had made their first bad movie.
“Originally you found out about Nemo's mom's death through flashbacks”

Wander Over Yonder I feel is still a bit underappreciated to this day
Fun lighthearted kids cartoon with a strong sense of appeal in its character design and animation
I don't disagree that vivziepop suffers from same face syndrome but somehow I don't think these people would have a problem with your average 2010s kid's cartoon
“I hate when people redesign hazbin characters, they make em so ugly and make them look totally different to the source material and just use it to put their weird fetishes”
Vivzie when she redesigns characters:
A lot of shonen fanservice of female characters isn't really intended to be "sexy". It is intended to humiliate female characters by means of objectification and sexualization through the lens of misogynistic comedy
Release Coyote vs. ACME already. And show some respect for the Looney Tunes.
A beloved franchise and characters who have both remained synonymous with animation AND were mascots who helped move the studio forward, you neglectful dickheads.

This is something that's been rattling around in my brain for some time, and
@billmckibben
finally articulated it here better than I ever could. It’s worth a read from start to finish.
Opinion: Age matters. Which is why Biden’s age is his superpower
This isn't exclusive to universal, entertainment companies in the West generally have this strange belief that animation can't stand on its own merits.
Anyone who grew up watching Max is tearing their eyeballs out rn at the sudden surge of ppl who know nothing ab him getting super into him without acknowledging his very racist views (he has not changed btw - old + new examples)
Ed, Edd n Eddy is a great example of a cartoon transitioning from cel animation to digital because they didn't use it as an excuse to get lazy with the show.
