If Nintendo has learned anything about a new hardware launch it's that the NEED a killer app (Wii Sports, Tetris) or a flagship IP title (SMW, SM64 BOTW) ready to go day-1 to succeed in Western territories. If they don't have the software ready it's a non-starter.

I mean that'd seal the deal for me, you and a decent chunk of og core Nintendo crowd but I'm not sure Metroid holds anywhere near as much cultural cache as Mario or Zelda. Those IPs have a broader appeal that's just unmatched.

We won a BAFTA last night. Rollerdrome won Best British Game. I went in with zero expectations of winning and was totally blown away when they read the name of our game out. The whole night was a big beautiful dreamy blur, one I don't want to wake up from just yet.

- Added a ref who tries to stay out of the way and blows his whistle sometimes
- Added a crowd who cheer when there's a goal and sound disappointed when there's a miss
- Slowed the players down a bit because it was quite hard to follow before
Ok fine I did a teensy bit more work on it!
- Some markings on the pitch
- It says GOAL! when someone scores
- Players cover more vertical space on the pitch
I might do a little ref (with whistle) and some crowd audio tomorrow.

First PS1 game I owned was Destruction Derby. I discovered that once the level had loaded, you could open the disk drive and replace the game disc with an audio CD. The only CD we owned was Lighthouse Family - Ocean Drive. Smashed up a whole lot of cars to Lifted!😂
