All this talk of a strike being damaging to children, I’ll tell you what is damaging to children: Not enough teachers Not enough money in schools Buildings in a state of disrepair Demoralised work force Loss of goodwill that keeps things going That will all do far more damage.

Regular as clockwork - temperature drops, heating packs up. Every year for the 22 years we’ve lived here. Multiple heating engineers claim to have fixed it. They haven’t. Brrrrr!

I could not be more proud of my wonderful GCSE students - their results would be amazing in a normal year but after the two years they have had … just phenomenal. They worked their socks off and I feel optimistic for the future if these are the young people who will be in charge

My classroom was 32C at 7.45 last Monday morning. That’s with the blinds and windows closed all weekend, as we’re being advised to do this week, and with outside temps at that time only about 26C. Later in the day it was hotter. I am genuinely dreading what Mon/Tues may bring …
