Visiting my mother in law coinciding with forgetting to pick up my meds was a bad call.

Is there anything harder in the primary maths curriculum than trying to convince children that a rectangle does not have 4 lines of symmetry?.

And I really do welcome the changes, and they are positive steps. And I get it’s a phrase lots of teachers use. But little slips like this can still be seen as very telling.

Webinar by @Ofstednews. Question: Are inspections only happening on Tuesday/Wednesday. Answer: Yes, if you haven’t heard by Monday lunchtime, you are safe for that week. Safe. Still using language that causes anxiety. We shouldn’t need to be ‘safe’ from an inspection.

One week in, and those little ones will already love being in your class. Enjoy these weeks when you’re getting to find out all about them, they’re some of the best of the year.

My little lad was trying to use the word ambidextrous today. Instead he said my wife was ambitrocious. And, I very much like this new word.

I’m optimistic, but maybe have been burned too often under the last government. A welcome step, but it has to just be that. A step. Much more needs to come. 8/8.

Hi everyone, we’ve scrapped one word judgements, here’s the training materials we are using over the next three weeks, no inspections until then and here is an FAQ of everything we can think of. Here’s the number for our helpline if you need any further information. 7/.

I’m sure all of this has been thought through and there are answers. But, the comms have been poor. Get it all ready to go and release it to heads. It seems simple…. 6/.

How does all of this tie in with what the Big Listen has shown them? What other changes are coming as a result of that? How can they fit with Ofsted wanting to pull in one direction and a Labour government wanting to pull in another? 5/.

What of inspections that happen this year, which will be outdated less than 9 months after they happen, and in some cases just weeks after as the new system comes into place? What is the point? 4/.

Where is the info for schools in window now? When is training for inspectors happening? Will training materials be made available? What is happening to inspections while this happens? This is all info heads need, or it all becomes more stressful again. 3/.

What happens to ungraded inspections? These were supposed to changing to remove deep dives and release some pressure points. What happens to schools sitting on judgements currently? Do they get removed from the Ofsted website to purge the one word system from history? 2/.
