The Government has confirmed that schools are not required to deliver mass testing from the start of January. We are advising schools not to spend time during the holidays preparing for testing & that teachers do not volunteer to administer tests.

If today’s reports are correct, the pay review body is recommending a pay award of 6.5% from September - well above the 4.5% average Government offered. Further evidence the Government is out of touch & that its position is not credible or justifiable.

1 June is the date from when schools may be able to extend their opening arrangements. It is neither a fixed nor hard & fast date by which all schools must open & there is no requirement or obligation currently on any school to reopen to more pupils from that date.

It is not reasonable for schools to ask teachers to complete a record/diary of what they are doing on a daily basis if they are working from home. It is reasonable for an employer to set out their expectations of what staff should be doing. These should be reasonable & practical
