76 years ago today, thousands of valiant U.S. soldiers stormed the beaches at Normandy during

It’s long past time for us to ensure that the freedom for which they gave their lives is finally a reality today for all Americans!

Today, I married the love of my life.
In awe that I get to spend the rest of my days with this gorgeous and amazing woman! 🤵🏼💍👰🏾
Grateful thanks to the incredible Judge Tonya Parker for doing us the honor of officiating.

My wife is black. Things that shock & surprise me have been commonplace *every day* of her life
Our kids will experience the world as black people
There is nothing I won’t do to protect my wife & children
I will not accept disparate treatment of my family by LEO or anyone else

Five years ago this beautiful & brilliant woman became my wife.
She’s made me a better man in every way ever since.
God has blessed us with two beautiful babies.
So grateful for this incredible life with this amazing woman.
Happy anniversary, baby!😘
Two years ago in the

library—just a half-century after the Court made our engagement legal—my stunning & brilliant bride made me the happiest man in the world!
Two amazing twins later, I thank God now more than ever for bringing us together & blessing our union!😘
He asked Him, he asked my father, and then he asked me and I said YES! He popped the question inside the United States Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.😍 Yes, we are both nerdy lawyers...it works! 💕

In 1961, Constance Baker Motley became the first African-American woman to argue before

. She won that case.💯
Five years later in 1966, she became the first African-American woman to serve on the federal bench.🏛

Nearly 170 years ago on July 5, 1852—3/4 of a century after the Declaration of Independence was penned & during the height of slavery—one of the greatest Americans delivered one of the greatest American speeches:
“What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July?”

I’ve devoted much of my professional life to proudly serving
@statebaroftexas
in several capacities.
President Larry McDougal & Director Steve Fischer are not fit to lead it.
Their continued tenure delegitimizes & debases both our Bar & State.
Texans deserve better.
As we begin the New Year, we’re excited to return to our Central and South Texas roots.
I’m pleased to announce that I’ve joined the outstanding attorneys at
@Langley_Banack
as an equity shareholder in the firm’s San Antonio office.
Can’t believe Trey & Kyla are 1️⃣! 🎉🎂
As my amazing wife said earlier today, it’s been a whirlwind year filled with joy, exhaustion, laughs, survival, illness & bountiful blessings!
Can’t wait to see how much they grow & brightly they shine in 2020!👶🏽👶🏽
It’s ridiculous how good
@KVPTexas
is.
Hands down the preeminent appellate attorney in the Panhandle and one of the top appellate lawyers in the state!💯
As
@JusticeWillett
so eloquently put it:
“One wonders if our colonial ancestors, transported to 2014, would be astonished—watching government seize, then sell, the property of guiltless citizens who have not been charged with any crime, much less convicted of one.”

1/ Every year, Texas police take in about $50 million from seizing people’s property under state laws. Not everyone is charged with a crime.
Police release little data about these seizures, so we got the data to shine a light on civil asset forfeiture.
Wishing my beautiful & brilliant bride a wonderful birthday today!🎉🎂
She’s the bedrock of our family, and we thank God for her every day.💯
Love you baby!😘
As someone who battled a stutter growing up & still has to occasionally ameliorate it today—which has undoubtedly influenced my chosen avocation of *writing* for a living—I am in absolute awe of that young man’s unbridled courage & unflappable composure last night! 💯
