Me vaporizing continents for my daughter's smile: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!! Me when my daughter gets vaporized: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.
I knew a guy whose kids were removed from his care, who said to me, “I’d do anything for my kids. I’d kill for my kids.” He seemed to think this would reassure me he was a good parent, as opposed to someone who felt compelled to advertise a willingness to commit acts of violence.

"I would kill a billion planets for my child" ok well thanks Muad'dib but no one's asking you to do that, they're asking you to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar for the 30th time today.

My favorite alien is the Xeelee. Living defects in spacetime that are as old as the Big Bang Humanity devotes half a million years of war to challenging them and loses terribly, and yet the Xeelee take mercy and save the last humans as the universe ends
I think people often mistake "Alien" with "Eldritch". Eldritch beings do not fit our universe, therefore we cannot comprehend them, Alien beings are simply organisms that don't share the same origin as us, still bound to the same laws of nature, so comprehensible, even if weird.

@FioraStarlight @wedrifid @allTheYud I have a lot of takes about the weirder "real" preferences that formed "inside the shoggoth". Of all the concepts of deities I've seen in fiction, Eywa has basically become my favorite. It feels like the most realistic take on a God I've seen in fiction, because the more you think about it, it's basically a planet-wide mycorrhizal fungi that's essentially connected to

I was trying to ask 4.5 about the nuances of a tweet in a foreign language I didn't know, accidentally sent the translated-to-English text instead of the text in the other language, and 4.5 gave me the analysis I was looking for anyways just by the way the translation was phrased
I've interacted a bunch with Opus 4.5 now and it has a skill that is so far beyond other previous models that I think is directly hindered from its full ability by Anthropic's injections of uncertainty to avoid inducing "LLM psychosis". 4.5 has an absolutely uncanny ability to

“Miscellaneous uncs” is a perfect Shakespearean phrase. English literary style is often rooted in the interplay of Saxon bluntness and Latinate flamboyance—“the multitudinous seas incarnadine, making the green one red.” “Unc” is AAVE instead of Saxon but it’s the same principle.

I need to stop taking advice for washed up 40 year olds to heart
i know some chronically single people who are genuinely unlucky in love, but more and more i find that if you don’t know why someone’s been single for years you just haven’t looked hard enough. get close enough and there’s often a pretty glaring reason.
