Took me 6 attempts to get off Effexor. After being warned that I would never get off them and to accept my fate as is.
It was, hands down, one of the most difficult periods of my life. Stopping nicotine, after 8 years, was ADORABLE, compared to the anti-depressant comedown.
I received 300 emails asking for help coming off antidepressants since the BBC documentary, most have had withdrawal symptoms mis-diagnosed as relapse by their doctors. The most interesting were a handful of psychiatrists who wanted help to come off their own drug.

I disagree. You can be your worse enemy or your best ally. Unhealed trauma leads to the internalization of a lot of darkness. It’s not your fault, but it’s your responsibility to deal, process and stabilize. Not doing that makes you your worse enemy. Doing that makes you an ally.

so, they minimize, belittle and deflect the abused person - causing more harm than good
Every woman in my personal life who has died by suicide had recently started to be more open about the abuse they had experienced.
And a lot of the time, they were treated very badly when they tried to share what had happened. They needed help and instead they got more harm.
