Delighted to share the findings from my PhD thesis, highlighting the role of a novel oncogenic fusion transcript, UBE3C-LRP5, in oral cancer. Pyrvinium pamoate targets the fusion-positive tumors! Highly grateful to @amtdutt for the support and encouragement. Kudos to the team!!.
UBE3C-LRP5, novel oncogenic fusion-transcript in oral cancer @ 5.3% in Indian & 1.2% TCGA patients. Kudos to @dbhaskarjnv & Ashwin Butle in collab with Dr. Sudhir Nair! Pyrv' pamoate, an FDA approved dewormer, targets this fusion. A potential game-changer!

Glad to share that a part of my thesis work at @amtdutt lab is published in @CommsBio in collab with Dr Sudhir Nair @ACTREC_TMC & @docdcruz. Using genomic, biochemical, in vitro and in vivo studies we show that miR-944/MMP10/AXL axis promotes tongue cancer spread to lymph nodes.
1/n Thrilled to share our publication @CommsBio led by @dbhaskarjnv in collab with Dr Sudhir Nair @ACTREC_TMC & @docdcruz. Using orthotopic tongue cancer mouse models, we show miR944 regulates MMP10 to activate the AXL signaling pathway promoting cancer spread to the lymph nodes.
