There used to a be website, StumbleUpon, based around the idea of randomly stumbling upon cool websites
back in Old Times, you could browse cool websites for hours. These were websites not built around monetization. They were built to be explored and rewarded curiosity. So few of them exist today but if you have any you love, please drop them in the replies!

Twitter will tell you that this mindset is ruining baseball
Andrew Friedman said that the Dodgers aggressiveness in free agency is not about a potential future salary cap, but that it's driven by an "extremely driven group of of players who want to take care of their legacy and create a dynasty." They know they have a special core.

Are we talking about filling vacancies in understaffed government agencies like NYC's Department of Social Services? Creating New Deal-style projects to address crumbling infrastructure? No! It's strengthening the military industrial tech complex!

Important & fascinating thread on how early Zionist pioneers saw themselves as colonists and how Weitzman even compared the Jewish Agency, which managed land purchases, to the East India Company

every public sycophant and world loser seems to love AI, majority of artists and other cultural figures with a modicum of intelligence is against it. it’s impossible to say who’s right
Ethan Hawke tells @thattracysmith that he’s “bored by AI,” saying he prefers real human connection. He calls AI a “plagiarizing mechanism” and jokes that while he knows it’s changing the world, he’s in “open rebellion” against it. https://t.co/LZ9EYLReGr

I find it interesting where we apply the “baseball is a business” line of thinking — which is only when a team chooses to make a decision to cut cost. I didn’t hear a lot of people trot out the line when Ohtani signed with the Dodgers, the best business decision a team ever made

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is on Capitol Hill today. He tells me about Zohran Mamdani announcing he’s moving into Gracie Mansion: “Beware of the ghost. I told [Zohran] about it. So the ghost is there. It's a friendly ghost, as long as you're doing right by the city. If you
