The CA Department of Housing and Community Development (@California_HCD) has mandated San Francisco to build 82k new homes by 2031. Uh oh š³ I have an idea that will help: Tear down the Central Freeway. Its presence currently blocks tens of thousands of potential homes.

Notice how my decibel reader app canāt tell the difference between the beautiful, harmonious sounds of BART and a ācivil defense sirenā lol š«

The decibel levels for BART rides are perpetually hovering around the Danger Zone for the human ear, and they regularly surpass it. Most people donāt know. Our local leadership doesnāt seem to care. The SF laissez-faire attitude towards, well ā everything ā is our biggest flaw.

Nonprofit developers in the Mission have been shaking down private developers for years. Extracting funds and taking over housing sites, all in the name of "community" and "equity." This private developer is refusing to pay the protection money. https://t.co/Mtd9s8TfBb

Nick Podell, the developer of the "Beast on Bryant," has allegedly failed to make good on commitment that helped him secure permits in 2016.

San Francisco: Making housing illegal since the 70ās. But Iām proud to live in a city where ācommunityā means funneling tax dollars to shadowy nonprofits that kill mixed-income housing, and then shake down City Hall to take over the site and collect more public cash š

Trump is making trade policy based on whether a TV ad gets under his skin. Meanwhile, the House is indefinitely shut down ā Congress incapacitated ā & Trump is ordering extrajudicial assassinations in the Caribbean & elsewhere. All to distract from inflation & the Epstein Files.

Watching this race closely. Minneapolis has been a national exemplar in how to appropriately build housing, and keep costs/rents down. Jacob Frey is right, and every major city in the US should follow Minneapolisā example ā¬ļøā¬ļøā¬ļø
Minneapolis kept rents far below the national average by building more housing, affordable and market-rate, and thatās essential to my plan. Your rent control proposal would make that nearly impossible. It's failed in city after city, and would be disastrous for Minneapolis

This is all downstream of Chinese ācompaniesā manufacturing the precursor materials for fentanyl, shipping it to Mexico, and Mexican cartels funneling the final product across the border. We still have a very porous border when it comes to deadly drugs. Americaās Opium War.

Yes. And I saw it last weekend in Berkeley CA. Itās 2-3 story buildings where the market would build to at least 10-12 stories if allowed. Nothing is uglier than scarcity.
Iām not opposed to all modern architecture, but is there any traditional architecture as bad as mid tier modernism?

Yāall, Donald Trump is scoffing at term limits. He doesnāt plan to leave quietly because heās an aspiring dictator. You are not overreacting. The country is not guaranteed to be okay. The Constitution is not guaranteed to be okay.
Y'all, Donald Trump is term-limited. He'll be gone January 20, 2029. I think this obsession with believing he won't leave office is bad for people already struggling with mental health concerns. You are going to be okay. The country will be okay. The constitution will be okay.

Much of the abundant crowd in SF 1) refuse to admit these facts to themselves, or 2) theyāre aware of obstacles, but are afraid to piss off labor. Either way ā weak. Very weak. Meanwhile, Trump just bulldozed the East Wing for his own private ballroom, without consequence.

SF isnāt building any homes right now unless itās tax-funded affordable housing projects. Absurd labor rules + inflated materials costs + outdated impact fees + still-significant amounts of bureaucratic processes = no housing. Recently passed state legislation doesnāt fix that.

U.S. cars are parked for approximately 95% of their total time in use. And this is the mode of travel we let dictate our land use and urban design policies for almost every American city.

Attn: San Francisco The Phoenix Project trusts Donald Trump over Daniel Lurie. Oh - just an fyi - the President of the Phoenix Project, Julie Pitta, stole campaign materials and was caught on surveillance cameras. Then, she was fired: https://t.co/91m0sh0KU4

The details are all over social media, including Pitta admitting she removed the sign. Even though she said she received permission from a store employee, the act was not acceptable, and Pitta saidā¦

For those who donāt live in SD, itās important to know that this area has been desperate for redevelopment going back decades. Just a large ghost town parking lot thatās been waiting, and waiting, and waitingā¦

Wow this is insane. A āsmall community groupā is working to stop a redevelopment dream in San Diego, which plans for roughly 4500 new homes (half BMR), commercial space, parks and open space, new and modernized transit, and a new arena/entertainment venue.
A small community group, Save Our Access, has won a significant legal battle against the city of San Diego, halting the $4 billion Midway Rising redevelopment project.

Trump has already committed like a dozen impeachable offenses in his second term. We were through the looking glass back in 2016 when millions of leftists decided to *not vote* for Hillary Clinton. Here we are.
Ranking Member @RepRaskin is launching an investigation into this $230 million shakedown of the taxpayers by Trump, which will be decided by his āpersonal lawyersā appointed to DOJ, including Todd Blanche! Beyond the blatant conflict of interest, this violates the Constitution's

If he was compromised and intentionally working to see the nation implode, weād experience the same thing. This is what it looks like. I donāt care how large the No Kings protests were ā weāre sleepwalking into authoritarianism. Not enough people care (yet).

Trump is literally suing his own Justice Department for $230 million ā OUR TAX DOLLARS ā and Republicans donāt care. Republicans in Congress have surrendered every shred of dignity. On their knees, groveling and worshiping the con man who robs us all.
Breaking News: President Trump wants $230 million from the Justice Department for investigating him, people familiar with the matter say. Any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit.
