Real. And very common in DC. Many who speak about rebuilding the industrial base lack both will and understanding of what that requires.
makes me sad when corporate execs or think tankers talk about how supporting an industry is “critical for beating china” etc and you can tell their heart isn’t in it. it’s like a land acknowledgment to the natsec community.
