Here I've talked about various aspects of cricket footage archiving like how I was hooked into it, what are the obstacles, details on my own archive etc. None of it would have been possible without you guys. So thank you so much once again! 🙌

Day by day I'm feeling more blessed that I grew up in THIS ESPN-STAR-TEN-NEO era. Back then even domestic games from Aus/Eng used to be shown LIVE. Archival footage (non India games as well) from even 70s (forget 80s, 90s) were shown. Pre shows were CRICKET CENTRIC & many more...
India v West Indies 2007, Vadodara.
A young MS Dhoni's stunning display of some Helicopter Shots. 🚁🏏 Hits 6, 6, 4. The first six is perhaps the best Helicopter Shot I've seen.
Kapil Dev's EPIC 129 v SA at Port Elizabeth 1992.
Over the years I've got lots of request for this because no significant footage was available on Internet. One stage, India was 31-6. None of the top 6 reached double digits in that inns & the next best score after Kapil was 17.
Here's a flashback of the epic celebration in the Indian camp after the 2001 Kolkata Test win over Australia. Watch out for Dravid's celebration here. The man who was mostly poker faced on the field it is quite amazing to see how much this win meant to him.
Well done DD Sports
A special upload
All 28 balls faced by Sachin Tendulkar from Glenn McGrath in the epic ICC Knockout game 2000. That straight six, the pull, Sachin saying the F word, McGrath beating him multiple times & giving it back everything is included. This is what you call a proper contest
They way Kolkata celebrated South Africa's return to International Cricket in 1991 was amazing.
Here are some rarest never before seen footage. The traditional Indian greetings, meeting Mother Teresa, the historic toss, the iconic hand folded gesture of Clive Rice & much more!
Timing from heaven by Rahul Dravid:
Y'all have seen enough of Damien Martyn's block cover drives which go for 4s. How about a forward defences which go for 4s?
Gentle block = 4 runs 🙀😎
How many of you remember this awesome big spinning leg break by
@sachin_rt
during the 2011 World Cup QF game v Australia? I'm sure
@ShaneWarne
would have liked this one.
Michael Clarke did well not to edge that one & nice work by MS Dhoni as usual behind the wickets.
Presenting Sachin Tendulkar's brillinat 146 v SA at Cape Town 2011 including footage from his epic battle with
@DaleSteyn62
who bowled 66 balls over two spells & Sachin negotiated 48 of them by some masterful defending & some luck. He played as many as 5 back to back Steyn overs.
Can Ravi Shastri get some credit here or would it be Rahul Dravid who would hog the limelight again is the new cool thing to say in Twitter. Don't know why certain people find it tough to praise Ravi without taking a shot at Dravid.
A Special Compilation
Top 11 biggest spinning balls by
@ShaneWarne
. From the famous ones to the likes of Gatting, Strauss, Chanderpaul, Anwar etc to some near forgotten ones - this clip is nothing but pure magic.
King of spin they said, rightly said.
How is this for a cover drive? That's Sachin Tendulkar for you guys. Almost seemed like the ball was bowled to a batting machine! Plus Gold Ian Botham commentary as well 😎 Can watch this all day, what say
@NorthStandGang
?
THREAD: 24 Spectacular Catches by Rahul Dravid
I'm going to upload 8 videos in this thread. Spend 15 mins from your schedule & I promise it will be worth watching.
(1/8)
One (among many) thing I loved very much about Rahul Dravid's batting technique is his ability to defend/block short balls. Used to play with soft hands & always tried to make sure the ball lands close to him rather than pop up. Here's one such example of Shoaib Akhtar's bowling.
YOUNG SACHIN GOLD:
These days almost all Sachin knocks are available in the internet but this one wasn't😎 So for the first time presenting y'all
@sachin_rt
's 73 v South Africa from Cape Town 1992-93. This was only his 5th Test half century.
Y'all surely remember
@DineshKarthik
's epic catch at Durban 2007 or the famous stumping at Lord's 2004 but how many of you remember this fantastic catch he took against Zimbabwe in 2005?
@bhogleharsha
& Sunil Gavaskar heaped praise on young Karthik in commenatry.
Shaun Marsh, Melbourne 2018-19
Ollie Robinson, Lord's 2021
Muhammad Rizwan, Ahmedabad 2023
There are some others in between too but these 3 Bumrah slower balls just can't be forgotten.
Jamaica 2006:
Series on the line. India 81-5 on Day 1. Treacherous wicket. Sachin missing. Ganguly dropped. Captain Rahul Dravid copes a nasty short ball. Dean Jones, on air, thinks Dravid will be roughed up now as every other plan has failed against him. How did Dravid respond?
Y'all have surely seen Rahul Dravid's debut 95 at Lord's 1996 but how many of you have seen the 84 he made in his very next inns at Nottingham?
Here's another rare gem from my archive. Some exquisite shots by young Dravid on display here plus awesome BBC commentary to go with.
14th March 2001 - For those who didn't see it LIVE
This is how VVS Laxman & Rahul Dravid were welcomed after they batted the entire 4th Day of the famous Kolkata Test of 2001. BALL BY BALL LIVE feed of the closing moments of Day 4.
@VVSLaxman281
Hope this clip reaches you, Sir
Kandy 2001 - When Kaif hit a 4 & left Sourav Ganguly stranded on 98*
I rate this as one of India's best Test wins under Ganguly. India didn't have Sachin, VVS & Kumble available for this Test. Beating a full strength SL in SL was absolutely not easy back then.
Sachin Mini Gem Alert:
Sachin Tendulkar rated this 35(26) v Aus at Bangalore 2001 as one of his favourite non-fifty or non hundred knock. The way he attacked McGrath was reminiscent of his onslaught at Nairobi few months back. Some of the shots you'll see in this clip are 😍🔥
MS Dhoni Special THREAD (2 clips)
1st clip📽️Dhoni takes on Shoaib Akhtar. Shoaib bowls bouncers, sledges but Dhoni makes a brutal 148 by smashing Shoaib all over the park.
2nd clip📽️Shoaib has said he once bowled a deliberate beamer to MSD. Waqar Younis called it out on air.
As India is all set to play a Test at Wellington tomorrow, here's a flashback of a brilliant contest between Rahul Dravid & Shane Bond in the same venue back in 2002. The wicket was wet, weather was windy & the picth had grass. Bond & co wrecked havoc but one man stood tall!
RARE ICL 2008 GOLD
@MayantiLanger_B
interviews
@StuartBinny84
& then asks him if wedding bells are ringing!😱😀Watch out for
@PatSymcox77
&
@rohangava9
's remarks towards the end of the clip.
You just gotta love this. Mayanti & Stuart, hope this will bring back some memories.😊
Umar Akmal burst onto the international scene drawing the highest praise from experts. Check out this contest between a young Akmal & Peter Siddle from the Melbourne Test in 2009. Got hit in the helmet & then took Siddle to the cleaners. Notice how the commentators praise him.
Aravinda de Silva at his brutal best in World Series Cricket 1989-90
Smashing the Aussie bowlers with contempt. Some savage pulls & shots over covers. 4, 4, 6, 6, 6, 6.
Picking up balls from outside the off stump & puling them for sixes - that's some ability for you.
MS Dhoni v Malinga. Hambantota 2012. Final overs of the innings - MSD hits 4, 4, 6. Three outstanding helicopter shots stuns Malinga. It just doesn't get better than this. Outstanding hitting.
Catch me if you can ft. Rahul Dravid😉 Do you remember this Dravid celebration after running out Inzamam in the 2006 DLF Cup in Abu Dhabi? Man was seriously pumped up!
PS: This was also India's first series in UAE since the 2000 fixing saga.
I crossed 10k followers mark today. A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your sustained support & love. I always tried to be original with my own style of contents & I hope I've entertained.
Here's a unique compilation for y'all. 8 of my fav batsmen reaching 10k Test runs. 🍻
EPIC SACHIN GOLD:
It's near impossible to find & upload a
@sachin_rt
knock which isn't on Internet but here's one GOLD. 19 year old Sachin Tendulkar's stunning 82(81) Not Out v Eng at Jaipur 1993.
WATCH OUT FOR THE SIX at 00:30. Trust me if that doesn't amaze you, nothing will.
Reason why don't like most 'IPL era' kids. They try to troll every single great player who they haven't seen play. These days apart from Statsguru, there is lots of old cricket footage available on YT. But seems like only thing these kids care about is silly trolls & fanwars😂
1997 Sahara 'Friendship' Cup GOLD:
Sachin Tendulkar hits Saleem Malik for a monstar 6⃣ which goes out of the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club. What a clean batswing the master had😍How many of you remember the good old Sahara Cup?
Can't recall Rahul Dravid celebrating like this many times in his career. Getting Sanath Jayasuriya for a first ball duck in 1997 clearly meant a lot. 😉
Finished watching the ball by ball version of yesterday's play. Just look at Kohli's eyes while greeting Anderson after winning. Almost sort of saying "I'll see you again very soon Jimmy." There were so many interesting moments in this Test, highlights just don't do full justice.
RARE GOLD ALERT:
Pak v SA 2007 5th ODI at Lahore: JP Dumminy hits a six & Babar Azam the ball boy takes a good catch. Gets praised by the commentator as well.
@babarazam258
@jpduminy21
Ind v Eng 3rd Test 2001
@MichaelVaughan
out 'handing the ball' 🤪✊🎾 One of the rarest form of dismissals you'll see in a cricket field. Surely this would have spurred some 'spirit of cricket' debate had this happened in current era?
3 Fantastic Sixes by Rahul Dravid:
He wasn't known for hitting sixes but he too could tonk the ball when the mood stuck him. Here is a compilation of 3 amazing sixes by Dravid, all hit over point to cover area. Slicing pace bowlers for sixes! Pristine timing on all the shots!
Test Cricket's Highest Wicket taker bowling to the Highest Run scorer for the LAST TIME -
@sachin_rt
v
@Murali_800
at Galle 2010. The non striker was Rahul Dravid who was the 4th Highest Run scorer at that time.
Facing Shoaib Akhtar the Brad Haddin way:
This was a T20 game between Aus A & Pakistan in 2004-05. Haddin went behind the stumps on a Free Hit ball in attempt to score of a
@shoaib100mph
yorker. He tried it again of another Free Hit but got bowled that time. 😅😂
Anil Kumble getting Sachin Tendulkar & Harbhajan Singh getting Rahul Dravid - contests you don't really see often.
The MCC v WXI games played at Lord's in 1998 (Princess of Wales memorial game) & 2005 (Tsunami appeal game) gave us a chance to see many such matchups.
Mohali 2008, Ind v Eng 2nd Test
@VVSLaxman281
keeps wickets without pads as MS Dhoni rolls his arm for an over. Look at the smile on Dhoni's face. The line & length was spot on however.
Shoaib Akhtar & Brian Lara's career overlapped for nearly 10 years but Shoaib bowled only 5 balls to Lara, ever. Here's all of those 5 balls. The last one is a bouncer which made Lara retire hurt. What an epic contest it would have been had they faced each other more times.
Two EPIC ODI endings from the 2000s
Trinidad 2008: 10 needed from 2 with 9 wickets down. Shivnarine Chanderpaul hits Chaminda Vaas for 4⃣,6⃣
Harare 2006: 5 needed from the last ball. Brendan Taylor hits Mashrafe Mortaza for a 6⃣
Some brilliant batting under pressure 🔥🔥
Antigua 2002:
Zaheer Khan, Sourav Ganguly bowling Spin in a Test match + Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Wasim Jaffer picking up their first Test wickets! All in one single day! Zaheer nearly got a wicket as well with his off spin!
@ImZaheer
@SGanguly99
@VVSLaxman281
@WasimJaffer14
Beautiful leg spin bowling from Sachin Tendulkar v South Africa at Durban in 2001 Standard Bank Tri Series Final
First knocks over Jacques Kallis with a flighted delivery which yorks him then outfoxes Jonty Rhodes with a sharp turning ball as Rahul Dravid takes the bails off.
An epic contest ft
@shoaib100mph
&
@jacqueskallis75
Out of 4 balls, 3 were 150 Kmph & 4th was 148+
One epic yorker which Kallis blocked. One classic cover drive for 4. One beamer. And another yoker which knocked out the middle pole!
Captures the essence of Shoaib perfectly!
Happy bithday
@s_badrinath
One of the finest Indian batsman in the domestic scene.
Here's the gritty 56 Badrinath made on his debut Test against the likes of Steyn-Morkel. Only 2 batsmen apart from him reached double digits in that innings. Dale Steyn took a superb 7-51
Aravinda de Silva takes on Brett Lee who was bowling thunderboults throughout the 2003 World Cup. At Centurion he was taken to the cleaners by Mad Max (6, 4, 6). All 3 balls were over 140kmph but look at how de silva treats them! Plus epic commentary by Benaud, Holding & Greig!🎙️
NZ spinner Shane Thomson v Sachin Tendulkar at Hamilton 1994 - A forgotten Contest.
Sachin hits 4,4,4 but then Thomson bowls a BOUNCER. Sachin, clearly surprised, tries to hook it but gets caught. A very good mini battle which the bowler won against the mighty Tendulkar.
Was going through random footage searching in my archive, saw this & couldn't resist posting. Sachin hits an amazing hook of Brett Lee which goes for six! It was a no ball and the next ball was the first ever Free Hit in Indian soil.
2005 wasn't the best year for Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs as injuries were starting to take a toll on the body but even during that time he often produced spurts of brilliance. Here's Sachin hitting Chaminda Vaas for4⃣4⃣4⃣. 3 different shots in 3 different areas of the ground 🔥
Today Chris Woakes played a very clever stroke where he sort of changed the shot at the last moment. Here's Yuvraj Singh doing something like in Compaq Cup 2009. Watch out for his reaction after playing the shot.
And when it's an ODI in SL, Tony Greig is ought to be on air!
RARE CRICKET INCIDENT:
Ball goes through the stumps. Bails remain intact. This happened during the 3rd Test of SA in Pak in 1997-98. A Mushtaq Ahmed delivery goes straight THROUGH the stumps & everyone is baffled. A tiny 22 sec clip of this is on YT but here's extended footage.
This is one of my most fav Sachin knock. The scorecard will say he made 45 of 33 with 7 fours, 1 six but untill you see some of the shots he played you won't realize what a special show it was from the master. Few weeks later he made 44(43) at Trinidad (10 4s). That was also 🔥⚡️
Cheteswar Pujara's ONLY Over in International Cricket!
While watching the ball by ball footage of South Africa's famous 'blockathon' at Delhi in 2015 I realized Pujara had bowled a solitary over. Did you enjoy doing this
@cheteshwar1
? 😀Amla & ABD treated him with full respect!
If you enjoyed watching
@virendersehwag
bat then you don't want to miss this. Mumbai 2005, series decider, Sehwag displays a brutal display of batting v one of the greatest pace bowler ever, Shaun Pollock. 3 balls which goes for 4, 6 & 4. Watch out for the sheer power & the six!
UNSEEN OLD GOLD:
1998 Commonwealth Games. India v Antigua. A young Harbhajan Singh knocks over Sylvester Joseph with a nicely flighted off break. Happy birthday
@harbhajan_singh
I was looking highlights of the India v England Rajkot Test from 2016/17. Have a look at Kohli & Rahane's average respectively. Both of them had toured SENA + WI, SL, Ban at least once by that time.
Only time Rohit Sharma faced Shoaib Akhtar - 11 Runs of 6 balls. 2 fours and a Kamran Akmal drop catch!😂 Here's the ball by ball full over. Battle between two generations.
@ImRo45
@shoaib100mph
He is famous for his power hitting on white ball Cricket but Andre Russell played Test Cricket before making his ODI/T20I debut. Got a wicket in his 2nd ball in Tests.
Do you remember this?
S Ramesh in 2001 & Mark Butcher in 2002 were at the receiving end of two absolute brilliant deliveries from Muttiah Muralitharan. These are just about as good as it can get.
THE OFF SPINNING BALL OF THE CENTURY 🎾🌪️ I bet you haven't seen this before!
I have got many request to upload this ball by Murali from Ind's tour of SL 2001. The perfect off spin version of Warne's ball of the century. Here you go guys! I included one vintage Ganguly 6 as well!
2004 Asia Cup flashback
This has to be one of the best works by a close in fielder I've ever seen. Pakistan's Yousuf Youhana gets run out by Tillakaratne Dilshan in a very weird way. Had this happened in social media era, tons of GIFs would have been made for sure!😂
Every time i see a meaningless Tendulkar v Dravid 'debate' (it is not even debateable), this statement by Dravid comes to my mind. Called himself an 'AVERAGE BATSMAN' & rated Sachin as the BEST of his era.
More than his cricket, this is what made Dravid so special as an human.
Rahul Dravid's recent CRED ad reminded me of this Mountain Dew ad from 2013 where Dravid featured alongside the other members of Rajasthan Royals. How many of you remember this one? 😄
Faiz Fazal's ODI debut in 2016. Made 55* & wasn't picked for India since. Have a look at some of the shots he played. Faiz should have played a lot more for India. His career reminds me of Gagan Khoda (2 ODIs), prolific in domestic, successful in ODI debut yet not picked again.
Do you remember the 'Set Max Tiger' 🐯 from 2003 World Cup? Or the 'Chlor-mint Baba' on ESPN in 2003? Or even that 'Happydent White' slide in 2007? Here is a look at some those cartoons which surely made the cricket broadcasting look even more awesome!
1999 Singapore: When Courtney Walsh saved a kid from a potentially bad collision
Walsh was running full steam ahead to save a boundary but he couldn't & while crossing the rope a kid was right infront of him so Walsh just picked him up & made sure he doesn't collide with him. 😃
OLD BGT GOLD
Stuart MacGill nearly traps Rahul Dravid with a googly but then Dravid hits a brilliant shot v MacGill. Seeing that
@mcjnicholas
on air says, Richie Benaud (earlier on that day) said he couldn't think of anyone else using wrists better in strokeplay than Dravid.👏
Caught Sachin Tendulkar bowled Wasim Akram. How is that for a combo? This happened during the Wills Solidarity Cup 1996 when a combined India-Pakistan XI took on Sri Lanka & beat them by 4 wickets in their own yard ar Colombo.
@sachin_rt
@wasimakramlive
any memories for this?
PROPER UNSEEN OLD GOLD
The 1st Test of India in New Zealand 1998-99 at Dunedin got washed out but they played a 50 over Day Night game.
@VVSLaxman281
got a wicket & scored 82 runs alongside Dravid who got 51. Check out some classic shots from two of Indian cricket's very best.
Hilarious Cricket Incident! Have you seen anything like this before?
@StewieCricket
tries to sweep
@anilkumble1074
& the ball went in the air, when it was about to hit the stumps keeper Ratra instinctively collected the ball. Stewart got a new life & gave him a pat in the back!😸
India v Pakistan 2007 Bangalore Test:
Anil Kumble picked up only 1 wicket in the 1st inn after bowling 44 overs. But he got 5-60 in the 2nd inns but out of that 4 wickets came by bowling medium pace! The pitch had uneven bounce &
@anilkumble1074
did something out of the box.
Forgotten Gem Alert:
Cuttack 1995. India v New Zealand 2nd Test. Chris Cairns produces a peach of a delivery for which even the most complete batsman in the history of game had no answer. If there is anything called the perfect ball then this is very, very close to that.
Enjoy!
Most of you would remember
@MohammadKaif
's stunning catch in the Karachi ODI in 2004 but do you remember this one he took also Vs Pakistan next year in Kanpur?
This man was simply 👌 back in days when India wasn't one of the best fielding unit in the world.
Sahara 'Friendship' Cup 1996 GOLD:
Young Rahul Dravid smashing peak Waqar Younis for 4, 4, 4, 6. Hits 19 runs of a single Waqar over. 😎🔥 Watch out for the epic pull shot which goes for a maximum!
Rare Gold Alert
18 year old Wasim Akram's Test debut v New Zealand at Auckland 1985. Unseen footage of his first two wickets & also the first ball he faced.
@wasimakramlive
Hopefully you'll enjoy this one Sir.
'Lagaan' XI v Britannia XI at Mumbai 2001 ft. Aamir Khan & team.
Sourav Ganguly, Dravid, Sehwag were commentators & umpires alongside Sidhu and Maninder Singh. One needed was to submit four packets of biscuits in exchange for a ticket.
@amirkingkhan
@SGanguly99
@virendersehwag
Nothing much to see here guys. Just a vintage Sourav Ganguly & Rahul Dravid run out, that's it. 🤣 Dravid's reaction after the Red signal was priceless. Can only wonder what he was thinking! 😅
Aravinda de Silva's brutal pull & hook compilation:
Who was the best player of short balls among Asians? Sachin, Dravid, Laxman back then were great but one man stood out. Current gen haven't seen too much of him but here's a collection of pulls & hooks from the Magical MAD MAX🔥
761 International wickets, 5k+ runs
@chaminda_vaas
was a fantastic cricketer. Could make the ball talk. Have a look at this display of bowling v India at Kandy 2001. SS Das all at sea. Two close LBW shouts turned down & then knocks him over but it turned out to be a no ball.
OLD GOLD from 1996-97
This was Zimbabwe's first ever ODI series win. They beat England 3-0. Till date, I haven't found any footage of this series in the Internet so always wanted to get this & upload for y'all. Finally here you go.
I find the kits of both teams very cool too.
