We have finally recorded a caracal in the Thar desert after so many decades!!! 🥹🥹🥹
For the last few months people been talking about Caracal sightings in remote locations of Jaisalmer near Border area. Yesterday someone caught its cub & posted photo too. Probably this photo is a confirmed sighting for many decades from Thar Desert of Rajasthan. @and_ecology

Because projects like Ranthambore become symbolic vanity projects. Like a govt can show the world, 'ok job done'.
Disproportionate focus on Ranthambore really cost Rajasthan its tiger landscapes. We should've had a region-based approach for reviving tigers in the Aravallis, with strongholds spread out. Quite similar to eastern Madhya Pradesh.
