Afghan Urial - one of the rare & secluded wildlife species; it's real home is Turkmenistan & Afghanistan - also found in far off pockets of Torghar (Qila Saifullah) Every bone & joint ached after travel in boulder strewn country but worth all pains once I saw the glorious guy

I first fell in love ❤️ with the iconic "Rann of Kuch" - when I was posted as Assistant Commissioner (trainee) in Tharparkar, late 90s I was attached with loveable Jessa Ram (Tehsildar) & explored wild beauty of Marsh Ecosystems of Thar Can't love enough it's Pelicans & Cranes

Poor reporting from @BBCUrdu (My wishes & Prayer for speedy recovery of the singer) But pl note🙏 Deosai is home of Himalayan Brown Bear esp in night - not an overnight stay place for humans esp Sept as hibernation starts Brown bears avoid humans even their smell Respect🐻

Taunsa Barrage on River Indus braces itself to receive massive flood waters - this place is a Ramsar Site and Wildlife Sanctuary with a big pond area regulating irrigation water supply to millions of hectares of agriculture land It's a favourite habitat for Blind Indus Dolphin

Since my last post generated a lot of speculation about the animal chasing Urial in Salt Range - whether it's Caracal, Wolf, jungle cat or wild dog or even cross breed from wild - I share another picture from the same place;same animal I leave it to you to make informed guess🙏

Flooding in Indus Basin is a millennia old phenomenon but Nature also created "Riverine Forests" to reduce flood damage & benefit from more water Most Riverine Forest sadly destroyed in recent decades Pics r from yesterday showing Riverine Jungle(M/Garh) reducing flood damage

When Rivers go Berserk 😡 This is the Tawi River in the last winter as it enters Sialkot district - Sedate, slow moving & mellow. I was there to photograph "Bar headed Geese" Scared & baffled after seeing super flood visuals from the same Tawi River yesterday

Amazing, magical news shared by Secretary Wildlife Punjab,Mudassir Sb - Indian Wolf sighted in Salt Range 4 yrs ago,I saw a wolf chasing Urial in Jhelum but this is first definitive picture evidence of Wolf presence in salt range in decades (Photo credit, Mr Tahir Pnjb WL Dept)
A landmark first photographic record of the rare Indian Wolf from Salt Range, Punjab, Pakistan (Kalabagh). This threatened subspecies still roams our wild places. We are committed to bringing its story to the world. #Conservation #IndianWolf #Biodiversity
