I don’t give up #FBPE #FBNHS🌻 Lots of typos particularly when angry about the way women are treated in the NHS. Views are my own

Tens of thousands of women have an IUD fitted every year in the UK. It's a form of female contraception, also known as 'the coil'. Medical guidelines say anyone having one fitted should be offered...

I have signed an @RCGP joint letter calling on @wesstreeting to employ enough GPs to give patients the care they deserve. The more GPs in England sign up to the campaign the more likely he will listen

@KDogg0_o @HysteroscopyA Because OPH is cheap and women are expected to see gynae pain as just part of being female 😡 #medicalmisogyny

@KDogg0_o @HysteroscopyA I’m so sorry this happened to your mum. I fear we are still not believed when we say that these procedures are intolerable without analgesia. I feel like the medical professionals have their hands over their ears. Another one fobbed me off the other day.

@KDogg0_o Could it be because Prof T Justin Clark & his research team @BWH_NHS promoted 'Low Cost Hysteroscopy' with just OTC meds from home & distraction technique? Clark claims in @bmj_latest that it "works well for most women". 35% have SEVERE pain in OPH. Cheap #MedicalMisogyny

@KDogg0_o @HysteroscopyA It is absolutely barbaric and women are hoodwinked and gaslit into the procedure. All the staff know exactly what is involved for the women in this situation and that makes them complicit and deceitful

Tell me why women are still going through hysteroscopies WITHOUT adequate analgesia?! My poor mother came out rather upset following it today. Camera, polyp removal AND a biopsy and still no analgesia? Bloody barbaric. Why isn’t a penthrox standard?! @HysteroscopyA

@HysteroscopyA I have been through it twice. First with a polypectomy. On the second time the doctor was looking at me as if I was a spoiled brat for crying during the procedure, and when I refused having the polypectomy she almost yelled at me.

@lmlais @clarky_on @HysteroscopyA Stomach churning, the pressure the team puts on patients is their own pressure to get waiting list down, its abhorrent, passing your own stress onto patients you are meant to be caring for, overlooking that’s it’s a patient in pain in front of them, time to reevaluate the plan

We’ve never tried to find out what % of people could manage without and not experience severe pain, because it is unethical. Yet in hysteroscopy is considered acceptable? It’s not.

Responding to a motion in the Northern Ireland Assembly, the Health Minister outlined some measures to improve gynaecology services, including those for endometriosis 👇

@sandydoc79 @mlchealth @mikenesbittni @niexecutive @clarky_on It’s happening everywhere. It’s assault, because consent is either not fully informed beforehand, or unable to be freely withdrawn during the procedure. It’s only women. It’s not good enough.

Despite years of campaigning, almost nothing has changed - bc it’s only for women and their pain and distress count for nothing

She fainted from the pain of an endometrial biopsy. Shock isn’t a risk of colonoscopy; it is for OPH.

@supersue1971 @HysteroscopyA @jan_murray Oh and the 'female gynae' I requested turned out to be a Junior Clinical Fellow who told me she would be performing the procedures. Unfortunately I'm not into mediaeval torture. After that she still asked to perform an exam - I refused that too!
